This was such an inviting clean and beautiful camping area. Right on the water, you can rent boats/kayaks/paddleboard, fishing, so much to do. They have a camp shop, with ice pop water popsicles, freeze treats and a nice hang out spot inside with a lovely fan. The water was extremely low, but…

Small but great. The owner Jeff helped is alot made us feel at home
$4 individual primitive site
Note: if you cannot sleep to the sound of trains at night, this is not the campground for you. I don't mind them at all, and rather enjoy the sound, but there were probably three of them that went by in the middle of the night rather close to the campground. There's a…

Nice rural setting, peaceful and nice scenery. Showers could be updated and it does cost 25 cents for a 7 minute shower. Camping sites reasonably priced only take cash or a check. Would have no problems staying there again.
Car camping in my Prius and wanted to stay in a non electric (ie tent) space for $12 but all the tent spaces didn’t seem to have anywhere flat to park. From what I could see, most of the nonelectric/tent were down at the bottom of slopes. Ended up paying the $18 and staying in a nice electric spot…
This is a lovely little campground with just 30 sites, though it feels like half that because it is so quiet. Thirty amp power is reliable though the potable water spigot is way too close to the dump station for comfort. The waterfront is pretty, though weedy as this is the west side of the lake.
We spent the first weekend of June 2021 in the group sites (M) at The Whitewater Lake and Hickory Group Sites. It was a very hot weekend for June so by the time Saturday morning came around everyone just wanted to go to Whitewater Lake. We got lucky, the parking was free on June 5&6.

Was in site 20. Nice spot for tent camping and enough room from each neighbor.
We knew very little about this park going in, but are so glad we’ve discovered it now! All of the hiking trails , but particularly the Flint Rock & Weeping Rock trails, rank up there with the best hikes we’ve ever done. This is the only state park with an actual swimming pool (additional use…

The park is beautiful, the campsites are very nice. There’s lots to do including swimming and kayaking on the lake. The only downside for us was that it was very loud due to it being a holiday weekend filled with families and kids. So it’s not the most quiet place but it is quite lovely. Sites 21,…
We were the only tent campers in the whole campground. These sites are good for both. We were on 444 and the site is nice and big only issue was rocks under the dirt, so it was hard to find spots for our stakes. The grounds are pretty. We had rain all of our first day, and our site didn't flood…
Very quiet and private sites. Lots of hiking that you can walk to from campground. I really liked going into the tower to see the views.
We went later in the year and the ice cream shop was closed. Not a whole lot to do nearby but that's ok for a quick nature escape!
We also went to the Cave…
A nice state park. Clean bathrooms with showers. Good sized site with nice privacy. Good hiking around the lake and mostly dog friendly. Nice play ground with horse she pits.

We stayed here last summer and had the biggest site we’ve ever had in all our camping trips. Had an owl friend spend two days with us in a tree! Beautiful sites and the paved roads are great for biking!
Sunsets and stargazing, fishing and kayaking, biking and relaxing! This campground is the perfect sanctuary for your family and friends to get away, enjoy quiet time and be outdoors. It's like a step back in time in the best way possible. The quiet nature of this campground allow campers to enjoy…
