Great private camp ground

This is our second time here. Staff is really friendly. It has clean showers and restrooms. The camp store is extensive for a camp ground - ha). The sites are fairly flat. They do have some full service sites, but most are electric and water only. The campground is convenient to the cool…

Large sites, family run and family oriented

First time being at this campground and I absolutely fell in love with it. Family-owners take pride in owning a quiet campground and doesn't allow outsiders. The have clear rules, and as long as they are followed, you're solid. However, if you break the rules, they are on it and have no problem…

Great place to stay in Door County

Extremely friendly staff. We had full hookups and a large wooded site. Staff delivered firewood directly to you as well. Everyone was very helpful and extremely friendly

Very Nice

This was our first time staying here! The family/employees were very friendly and at check-in gave suggestions of things to do! We found everything exceptionally clean including the newly remodeled bathrooms. They had a game room and right Nextdoor an adult only lounge. We were here for Memorial…

Quiet, serene

We were at site 25. Lots of wet swampy areas around this site. If it were hot, I would imagine a lot of mosquitos. If you forget something, you are better off going to Laona than Wabeno. Nice bike trail. Too shallow to fish off the shore by our site. Does have a grate over there fire for cooking.…

Would give 4 if not for the ticks!

Nice site for our 17-foot travel trailer with electricity, clean pit toilets nearby, and bathroom/showers nearby. We took a 3-mile hike on the premises and came back covered with ticks, then found more on us a while later, even after a detailed inch-by-inch inspection of clothes and bodies. Site…

Waterfront on a Great Lake!

Waterfront sites here are hard to get but reserving early is totally worth it. Beautiful state park with great hiking and biking trails. Right on Lake Michigan with nice sized sites and a beach, concession stand, kayak and paddle board rentals, tennis courts, nature center and so much more!

Rowley's Bay Loop

The loop is 4 miles from lot 1. Camp 13 is one of the most isolated sites which was perfect. Plenty of wood to hack down for campfire and dog came back with a few ticks. Please make sure you are prepared for them even in 20 degree weather.. Campsite seems to be on a bedrock so it was difficult to…

Early spring weekend escape!

We hiked from lot 3 to campsite 14 for a total of 3 miles (give or take). The path was pretty easy which was great for us given that we were carrying a lot of winter gear. The campsite was beautiful and isolated, we were the only ones on that side of the peninsula. Site 15 which was our neighboring…

We are Repeat Campers!

We have stayed here twice and plan to return again this year. Owners are amazing and accommodating. The park has open areas and more secluded areas as well. We visited during Covid and everything was handled wonderfully. It’s a great spot to park and easily explore all of Door County.

Rugged yet mild and Beautiful

Newport State Park is one of my Favorite parks in the State Park System. All sites are hike-in, with numerous waterside sites. I’ve camped here twice, the first time in a low-water summer. Spent all day on the flat rocks exposed in the bay next to our site, and the next year (far wetter) at one of…

Large, but Nice

Penninsula State Park is the largest state park in the Wisconsin system, and that’s clear when visiting in the summer. I stayed at The South Nicolet Bay campgrounds at one of the sites closest to the water. The site was nice, with a reasonable amount of wooded space between neighbors. The real…

One of our favorites!

Despite this park being super popular in the summer, this campground seems to stay quiet. The campsites are clean and shaded. Toilets and showers were pretty clean and centrally located. The beach was packed with families but they seemed to be having a great time. My husband and I rented kayaks—the…

Decent campground

This is a nice campground if your looking for a decently quiet crowded experience. I’m a backpacker so it’s not my thing but it was great short notice and the caretaker was really cool and a super nice guy! A lot of loud ATV’s at night but it wasn’t awful!
