Sites within 20 feet of the lake make for beautiful sunsets! Clean park! Several trails. Saw several deer. Also has a boat launch.

Secluded campsites, laid back staff, just a stones throw from the water!
I visit this site often and love it. Great walking and biking trails, and reasonably private sites. The 300 and 400 loops are better and the 500 loop is the best in terms of space and privacy.
If you do t mind cold camping (or have a 4x4 class B like me) go in the winter. Beautiful and empty. So…
I’ve hiked into the Ice Age Trail/Kayak sites for three summers in a row now, and I’ve been pleased each time. The hike is roughly 1 mile from the lots, and the sites are beautifully placed in dunes right on Lake Michigan. There are pit toilets near the sites. These sites offer some of the best…

Nice beach/swimming area, bike path, and playground for the kids. Also the most beautiful sunset over the lake and pines in July
This is a great state camp ground right on the lake. We stayed in site 123 with an RV and you could hear the waves! There was even a private trail leading out to the beach from our site. Highly recommend one of the 3 spots on the water but all the spots seemed nice and decently private. They also…
My partner and I camped here with our son for a night. We reserved a spot kind of late and wound up between the shower building and a loud group of hunters in an RV. If we return we'll definitely try to get one of the more secluded walk-in spots that are maybe 40 meters off the road. I'd recommend…

Bay Shore Park was an ok campground. The scenery and Bay were very nice.
The electric and water hookups were on opposite sides of the site, and we had to keep adjusting the travel trailer to get both to actually hook up.
The ground was a sandy-dirt, which wasn't too bad at first, but…
Nice park. Will go again hopefully when weather is warmer.
This was a great place to camp. Excellent bike trails, beautiful scenery, and a separate beach that allows dogs.
Didn’t see any reviews about the two backpacking sites south of the lighthouse so thought I’d add some thoughts. There’s the Kayak site and the Ice Age site. They are both accessible from the land or water. I parked at the visitor center and hiked from there. According to my watch it was .9 miles…
This camp ground is kept very clean. It’s very wooded so bring your bug spray. Biting flies were pretty bad by the lake when there wasn’t a breeze, but a small wind helped tremendously.
Lots of food and local ice cream served at the concessions!

Mauthe has several great wooded sites. You can’t go wrong with how close the park is to Milwaukee.
The sites are a little small but the hospitality of the owners/hosts ensure that we’ll be back. My husband ended up with some sinus issues on the day we were supposed to leave and wasn’t able to pull the camper home until he felt better. We offered to rent the site for another night and they said…
We had our popup for our first camping trip here. The site was very wooded which made it secluded enough from our neighbors. Vault toilets and flush bathrooms were very clean and right down from our site.
It has rained considerably the day before we arrived which made some of the hiking…
