The campsite was well maintained and clean, very close to trails and the beach. We stayed at quartzite. The only downside is they haven’t been doing any dispersed camping for the past year apparently. We ended up paying $80 for 2 nights. Kind of a bummer when you’re not expecting it.
My gf family has been camping at this resort for years as a summer tradition and it has now become part of our summers. Pros:
- Big Campground with lots of tent sites
- Watersports store with boat rentals
- Great Pool
- Campground Activites on weekends
- Awesome Donuts and Ice Cream
This is a small state park in terms of overall number of campsites, but its network of hiking and horseback riding trails is extensive. What makes this state park particularly interesting from a camping perspective are the walk-in(or cart in) sites. There are 12 sites you can't drive to, and the…
They have a lot of things to do and plenty of shopping. Visit the pools and try out the golf cart trail. Golf carts can be rented at the front hut.
Awesome state park with great outdoor attractions & hiking. We really enjoyed the bluff trail views & hiking. Campground is clean (including bathrooms & showers), staff all helpful & kind. Really enjoyed the dog beach & the lake is gorgeous. I would return in the off-peak…
If you want a secluded no amenities experience, this is your place. The bluff hike was cool, the beach was ok and very small. Lots of train traffic and flights due to the nearby military base. The lake/pond is right on the road which makes for an odd experience. The site was clean but only had…
I was just there for a night, but as I drove to my spot, I had to dodge and weave around cars parked on the road, as the tent sites looked like Burning Man had a baby with a homeless shanty town in Hawaii. Tons of tents, packed in side-by-side, so only space for cars was on the one-way roads.…
Great CG, roomie sites, clean, and plenty of amenities
I cannot wait to stay here again! This was such an incredible experience, and the campground is really close to everything. The staff was super accommodating and friendly, and the site is really beautiful. We decided we'll be returning every year, especially since it's a very quick drive to Devil's…
Stayed here two nights in late August. From our site (30) we had a nice view of the water which was about a 3min walk. Site was mostly level with gravel, picnic table and fire pit/grate. The trees on this look are amazingly tall and provide great shade. Park was clean and maintained. We didn’t use…
Large sites with relaxing atmosphere, yet a lot of activities to do. Close to the dells.
Chose this campground for the low light pollution in order to watch a meteor shower. Very nice recreation area with a nice beach. Two cons worth noting, but not enough to dock a rating; 1) it cost $7 per day extra for the vehicle I used to tow my camper to the campsite, wtf! 2) popular with young…
Nestled in the dells, this campground is really big, but generally you’re far enough from your neighbors. Nice sites and plenty of trails and water to explore.
