    Mt. Rushmore Resort & Lodge at Palmer Gulch

    Massive KOA resort

    If you like resort style camping this is it. Busy location with lots of activities, kid zones, on site store, laundry, pools, also lots of traffic. I gave it 4 stars because it does what it’s supposed to do, only miss was cleanliness on ladies room which was stinky and messy (says my wife…) Tried to have site selection but ended up on a very busy intersection with lots of traffic. Choose a middle site from their map to get some shielding from the camp roads. We’re here off season so some areas are closed. Don’t expect any kind of wilderness experience. Site was a bit small but mainly level, many to choose from at different price levels. I’m cheap so got what I paid for.

    Days End Campground

    Okay for one time

    The campground was Okay. We stayed in a tent and the noise from the highway made the nights pretty uncomfortable. Plus point for free toilets and showers, but absolutely no water pressure. No trash near our tent site, no water. The absolute worst were all the dogs running free and using our tent site as their toilet, especially while cooking. The only trash containers near the showers were absolutely full and smelling…

    Worst Campground ever!!!!!!!

    We arrived: Nobody there, Gate closed. But we payed for the campground and also got an email for the exact date. When we arrived at the top of the campground, we found nothing but dead fish and tons of wasps near the office. No guests, no staff.. We payed and had to leave!! Don’t book this campground!!!!

    All online check in with QRcode on door of building. We pick a spot check power with surge protector all good, water was about 40psi. Then paid online. Got confirmation by text!

    Very nicely kept. Some sites do offer shade. Most sites have view of the Missouri River. Out of town so good star gazing. Sites are close with very limited privacy. But sites are level with fire ring &picnic table.
