Black Hills RV Park provides gravel sites with full hookups along the southern edge of Rapid City. The privately managed park accepts reservations and welcomes pets, with two small dog runs near the front entrance and an open grass area for walking dogs toward the back of the property.
Sites sit close together throughout most of the campground, though management spaces RVs with gaps during slower periods. Long-term residents occupy many of the perimeter sites, while shorter-term visitors typically use spots in the central area. The park has undergone recent infrastructure updates, with ongoing improvements to pads and utilities. A self-storage facility borders one side of the property.
Campers consistently note the contrast between different areas of the park. Kristin recommends heading "to the back of the campground" where "views are breathtaking." The rear section provides elevated sightlines across the surrounding landscape. Clean restroom and shower facilities serve the campground when operational, though renovation periods may temporarily limit amenities.
The location puts Mount Rushmore 20 miles away and Crazy Horse Memorial at 36 miles. Fort Hays sits adjacent to the property, offering dining options including cowboy pancake breakfasts. Rapid City for camping near Rapid City provides additional options for those exploring the Black Hills region.

The Black Hills RV Park, located on the south side of Rapid City, was just completely rebuilt offering 80 full hook up year round 27'x55' level gravel rv sites. At this time we are not offering any tent sites or cabins, you must have an rv to stay here. Our new neighbor is a Circle K fuel station with convenience store for your shopping needs, and a new Sinclair Big D fuel station and convenience store across the road. Sites are mixed pull thru and back in with new picnic tables. We have all new water lines with filtered softened water, new water hydrants, new buried electrical transformers, new electric lines and electric pedestals, new sewer lines, fiber optic ran throughout the property, new led lights on new poles which dim at night, good WIFI, good cell phone service, good OTA tv reception. We have a clean shower house, new coin laundry machines, a small playground, 2 fenced dog runs and 2 dog walks. The park is conveniently located to all major local attractions, making a right out of the park Mt. Rushmore is 20 miles, downtown Rapid City with it's shopping and dinning is 5 miles to the left making us a convenient home base location. There's much to see and do in this area including visiting Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, The Badlands, Reptile Gardens, Devils Tower, both the Wind Cave and Jewel Cave parks, hiking Black Elk Peak, The Mammoth Site, plus horseback riding and 4 wheeling the black hills. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about visiting the Black Hills.
