Great views. Convenient location

After reading the reviews we were a little nervous about staying here, but now that we’ve stayed and explored the park…this CG can’t be beat.

The CG proximity to all the trails, scenic drives and viewpoints is key.

We arrived on a Saturday and departed on Tuesday. A majority of the RV’s and…

Cool camp ground!

Was a great site especially for being free. Love how close it is to badlands. It does get crowded but free is free. Idk if this was just our experience but it was insanely windy.

Great location, but other things could be improved.

The location is right outside of the national park, and is a motel / campground. You could get a room, RV or tent site. We reserved a tent site and picked once we arrived. The staff was friendly and they do have a store with ice / wood / etc if needed. They also had a breakfast option.

The tent…

Nice campground, really good owners

They has some fancies when I was in a pinch to get a site for the next few nights. They were able to accommodate my needs. They have continued to be friendly & helpful throughout my stay.

There are very few trees or shady areas. The tent sites seem to be shadier than the RV sites, who often…

Great KOA

Robert and Lisa are great! They have a good pizza and baked spaghetti. And fresh made smoothies! Plus they deliver to your site.

Very nice!

This campground was very nice!  It was quite larger than I expected and with it being next to the visitors center/entrance, I am glad they do not charge more!  Each site had a picnic table and most with a little shelter over it.  There are rest rooms and trash bins.  While there is barely any…

Really nice!

For being a campground in the NP, this is really nice!  The vault toilets were well stocked and very clean.  Trash bins throughout the site.  The sites are along a loop and while you can see your neighbors, they had a little more space than I thought due to the small size of the loop.  Beautiful…

Buffalo friendly campsite

I’ve spent my fair share of nights tent camping in the western part of the states and I’d have to say that this campground is hands down my favorite. Not only is it free is it stunning!! Views of rolling hills and a river valley. Buffalo often wonder into the camp to scratch themselves in the…

Prairie Dog Central

Decent campground. Lost some stars because of privacy, mud, and wind. The campsite is a circle with maybe 15 spots on the interior to camp, but people seemed to expand that number by camping outside the circle. Toilet was clean and smelled nice which was a surprise. Prairie dogs everywhere, you…

Badlands Appropriate

The campground itself is a loop of road pull offs no trees or separation from other sites but the views were outstanding.  With our America the Beautiful Lifetime Senior Pass got us half off for our site, so it was worth camping there, but I am not sure I would pay full price for a dry camping…

Simple campground with big views

Everyone should experience the Badlands once! The campground is very simple. No fires and very windy. Our experience was so nice, everyone was nice and welcoming. An assortment of all type of campers and tents. Bathrooms & showers are a 3 star. Some sites are on slopes. But overall a…

Majestic Views!!!

My first dry camping experience and, this is where it's at! The access road is about 7 miles south of Wall, making it just far enough to be AWAY. It's been said by other reviewers, it is windy. It's so beautiful, and the wind is the just nature's way of reminding you to move on. Otherwise you'd…

Sleep with the Bison

Awesome spot with ample space. Many hikes in the area and not far from the Badlands legendary formations. Tons of prairie dogs and bison roaming free around the grounds. Peaceful area with great views. Exceptionally clean restrooms.
