Harriet Lake

Beautiful spot with plenty of well spaced out sites that can accommodate tents, vans, or RVs . During the thick of summer there still weren't many people there (we went July 31). It is a bit of an inconvenience to get to if you're looking to do things on Lake Superior coast, but even considering…

Nice private sites

Since we live near Lake superior, we visit our beautiful North Shore state parks often. Tettegouche is one of our favorites. Most of the sites have plenty of vegetation between them for pretty good privacy.

There are miles of trails to hike, a beautiful visitor's center, and a lovely trial along…

Great family resort directly on Lake Superior

We stayed at this resort for 4 days and wish we had more time. The smooth pebble beach is fantastic. Our dogs loved running up and down the beach and playing on the shore. We took a day trip and walked North on the Gitchi Gami State Trail and visited Temperance River Falls and Hidden Falls.

Just feet from Lake Superior

Mostly level, some sites wooded, close enough to hear the waves

Beautiful land!

The trails were so beautiful and it felt like there were options to explore everywhere. Firewood was about $7/bundle and restrooms were clean. I want to go back and try to fish next time! There’s individual docks for fishing!

  • beautiful private areas to sit by the water
  • the lake was down but crystal clear
  • my tent site was very level

Lovely weekend

Very quiet campground. I think most of the sites were permanently parked. We were the only ones with a fire I think. We caught a few little fish in the lake. Paddle boats and kayaks for use. Well maintained. Easy in and easy out.

Iconic views of Split Rock Lighthouse

We camped in a cart-in site, with privacy and a beautiful view of Lake Superior. It is a splendid place for tent camping.

The MN Historical Society runs the tours and manages a visitor center for the lighthouse. Go up in the lighthouse and look around the lighthouse keepers home from a…

A North Shore favorite

I have camped at Gooseberry many times. There are some nice sites near Lake Superior. All the facilities are kept up. There is a great visitor center and gift shop.

Miles of trails to explore. The waterfalls are fabulous, especially in spring when the snow melt makes them roar. One year…

Great hiking with a busy campground

You need to get reservations ahead of time! We stayed Sunday through Tuesday. Space and vegetation between sites. A short walk to Lake Superior to star watch or have morning coffee. CCC building bathhouse. Awesome hiking to falls. Worth planning ahead.

Very Nice

Pull through and back in sights. Well spaced. Water, electric, and sewer. Only a couple sites left when we arrived. Level well packed stone sites. It’s next to Duluth and looks like a city park. Many permanent residents. Very clean and comfortable. I’d stay again if I’m in the area. Now we’re…

Open field, but right on the water

This was a great little spot to stay for a couple days. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is in an open field and feels a little like a parking lot, but it was really quiet and right on the lake, so we found very little room for complaint! It was beautiful to watch the sunsets at night and walk…
