Great find near Ely, MN

We wanted to visit the North American Bear Center so looked for nearby camping. The South Kawishiwi campground is a lovely forest service campground with 30 amp electric in many of its large sites. There are spotless vault toilets, a dumpster, aluminum recycling and a very friendly camp host. …

Great for 4 wheelers

Friendly campground! Nice restaurant on site. Seems to cater to the side by side...ATV crowd.  Lots to see and do in the area. Take a drive over to Ely..cute town. Visit the old Irin mine! We had a God stay...but sites are tight for larger rigs. Gravel road in is rough so go slow. Did not try bath…

Just ok

Pulled over here for a quick stay. It is close to the freeway is about it. Not really what I would be looking for, for an extended stay. It was fine for an easy come and go. Facilities were clean.

Back in the beautiful woods

We were planning to stay at Tettegouche State Park, but completely booked. After a bit of poking around the area we came across Finland State Campground. What a find!! Almost all of the sites are secluded. All are back in the woods, yet easily accessed. Our 32' 5er an easy fit. There are no…

Nifty little camp

Overall, such a great spot. The sites were clean and well taken care of. Same with the bathrooms and showers! The employees are very friendly and accommodating. They fit us into a spot the day we showed up, without reservations. My only complaints are that the sites do not have reservation markers…

This is a RV-centric campground

Been there twice in the last few years. Last time, in late Sept, we had the place to ourselves. It was peaceful and lovely. This time (mid Sept) and it was a friggin zoo. The place was packed with large RVs, several of which had drunken, stupidly loud hooting and hollering yahoos taking it into the…

Nice Forest Campground By The Lake

I spent two nights at site #13 which was an electric site with my RV. There is a mile-long hiking trail in the park which is a plus. It was raining and was windy so I didn't get to enjoy it much but what I noticed that it is overrun with mice during the night. They kept me up getting in and running…

6/25-6/26/20. Site 409

This was our first trip to Lake Vermillion-Soudan and we spent one night here. You can get wood as you enter, it’s in a little shed to pick your own and $6 a bundle. Our site was spacious and grassy, though we could see our neighbors, so it wasn’t the most private. We drove…

Camper Central

Beautiful state park with a funky layout. Campsites are very pretty but sites are mostly gravel not ideal for tents more aimed at the rvs. 100-200 campsites seem better for tents over 300 sites. 100-200 have some grassy tent pads with a cool layout. Check it out!

Good Spot for a Last Resort

We stumbled upon this campground when every other campground near Tettegouche was full by noon on Friday. About a twenty minute drive from the park. Great spot. There is more open camping near the office, but if you follow the road back past the office/bar there are about 10 more private,…

Love this Lake Superior Access Campground!

Located directly across the street from Lake Superior with direct access to the gorgeous lakeshore.
