Do NOT stay in #7

Good location. But we got stuck in #7. It had the clean out for all the sewer lines. Flies all over the place.

Great amenities. Day trip to Badlands.

We stayed here for 2 nights. There were full hookups and E/W spots. There were plenty of hot showers, a dump station, laundry, and propane refills, plus a tiny store. The grassy spots were level. Everything was cleaned daily. The only downside was considerable road noise from the freeway, but a fan…

Peaceful small community camping

We spent five days here in June to explore Mount Rushmore and the surrounding areas. Eight full hookup camper sites and several small cabins. Community fire pit was a plus that I originally wasn’t sure about. We had several great nights by the fire that we didn’t have to take care of making s’mores…

Convenient location

Cash only Rv campground. Only one washer/drier on honor system. It is located close to all services in rapid city SD. We came here to cleanup after 4 nights of Boondocking. Okay place to stay. Owner is really nice and accommodating.

Nice open parking with full hookups

When I arrived here for the camp host basically told me to pick my own spot to which I did and I got everything set up he then came over to check on me and that’s about the same time I turn the water on and there was a bit of a leak coming from one of the faucets he immediately went and got the…

Quiet Campground

If you want a campground that doesn’t party (being close to Sturgis) this is it. A few miles from the interstate. On a US Highway so some road noise noticeable with wi does open. Has park WiFi but bandwidth isn’t that great despite to reported price, we were charged $45/cash $50/card per night. …

So nice!

This was the second time we camped at Pactola Reservoir and it was great. They are very dog friendly ($2/pet, per night and you have to pay in cash at check-in), which is awesome to find. We have two dogs but saw other campers with 3. The upper loop (I think sites 48+) looked like they are more for…

  • View of the lake from our site
  • Access to a small beach area was across from the bathrooms down a trail. I'm not sure if the beach was dog-friendly but there was nothing posted saying otherwise!

Large, well groomed

We got here late in the afternoon during a heat wave with overcast skies. There had just been a downpour so things were a bit muddy. Pool was very clean and nice as was everything encountered.

There was a lot of grass here and the playground area had updated equipment and nice rocks beneath.…

Almost Perfect!

Beautiful and quiet spot with dedicated area to set up your tent separate from the gravel driveway and fire pit. We stayed in the upper loop site 52 which was super spacious and had the potable water spigot nearby. Only major drawback was not having cell service but mostly bc we still had to work…

Beautiful area

Camp hosts were very helpful and informative. This was the cleanest most well kept campground I’ve been to. The black hills are a must see. There’s so much to do in this area. Only 30 minutes from Custer. The bathrooms were very clean and Center lake had free warm showers available 24/7.
