A quiet place to rest

The trail is a beginner level trail. A couple uphills, but nothing too bad. The campsite is basic. A log to sit on, a fire ring, and spots for 2 or 3 tents. The campsite overlooks a lake. Water is weedy. There is a little trail that brings you down to the lake.

Crazy James landing watercraft campsite

This is a paddle-in only campsite within the Chippewa National Forest, and is an official campsite on the Mississippi River State Water Trail in Minnesota. It is located downstream from the Lake Winnie Dam, and is a good place to stay after portaging the dam if you dont want to stay at the Winnie…

Beautiful place

Very nice Forest Service campground.  Nicely wooded and private.  We will try to visit again and get a lakeside site.

Backpack camping site 10

Stayed at backpack site 10. It’s about 250 ft from main trail and about a 40 min hike in/30 min hike out from parking lot. The main trail is wide and well maintained with ambling hills, but overall pretty flat. It is about 1/3 mile away from nearest campsite.

The site is lakeside. You can easily…

Pristine and Remote in Paul Bunyan State Forest

This campsite might become my go-to for a peaceful last-minute escape. The campsites are very wooded and private and situated along trails and the lakes. Small campground, and quite rustic so if that's what your looking for this is the ticket.

There is a clean and nice boat access with a…

The Biggest Bog

Anxious to get camping after a Covid winter, we headed to Big Bog for a 3 day RV trip. The campground was nearly empty, which is always a bonus.

The campground has numerous sites next to the Tamarack River. Many have small docks where you can park your own or a rented boat. Our site was…

Nice way to stay for less when going to the casino

There are quite a few RV sites at Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen and they offer full hookups!  We stayed at site 19, shown in the photo.  Although the sites are close together, there were quite a few empty sites so we felt like it was semi-private.  The cost was about $25 per night so definitely…

Nice campground inside the town of Bagley

The campground has either electric or water or just electric sites for RVs and there are also tent-only sites.  The tent sites are located across from and adjacent to the RV sites.  The RV sites are pretty close together but, we were there in the middle of the summer and there were a couple of open…

Nice place to chill out

Little hard to find. It is on Stony Point Camp Road NW. It is 13 miles NE of Walker, MN on Leech Lake. Very nice campground. Electricity, dump station, nice showers, water, boat landing and fish cleaning shed. Be careful with water as a lot of the faucets are not potable. Just a few potable and…
