We stayed here for a week in June to start our trip around the country and it was a great place to start our camping experience! The owner/host does a great job and is extremely helpful. Plenty to do in the area... we floated down the root river for about 3 hours and had a great time. The…
This campground is well maintained and a beautiful park within the woods. Great for hiking and kayaking/canoeing is near by.
Stayed middle of the week found local firewood from farms nearby. Also a creamery is a short drive from camp.
This is a great site for kids. They have a lot of great amenities for kid’s entertainment. A lot of families camped here. The staff was very helpful & friendly. My only complaint is that the sites are really close together. Kind of makes you feel like a can of sardines.

Camp high on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Watch eagles soar as they hunt! Beautiful views.
One of the best campgrounds on the East Coast. Camp Oceanside among the dunes listening to the roar of the waves. Watch out for wild horses roaming through the campground
Bev was amazing to us!
Only 4 campsites and you have to call to reserve a spot but the views are worth it.
Every campsite has water, electric, a picnic table, fire pit, and tree for shade. The showers were being fixed when we visited, so I can't speak for that. A couple of porta potties on site…
We stayed at Frontenac the first weekend of May, and lucked out with some really incredible weather! The park offers a number of really nice hiking trails along the bluffs of Lake Pepin, which we took full advantage of. There were a few boats on the water , which looked so appealing on our hot day…

Easy to find, with Large roomy sites. Super clean bathrooms, and attentive staff. 8 minutes from stores if you need something. We would definitely stay here again.
First, terrific park. Lots of trails with a wide variety of landscapes. Prairie, forest, river, it’s got it all.
My campsite was perfect. The woods made it very secluded. It was close enough to water and bathrooms so it wasn’t bad if you planned. They do have firewood available however it is long…
Very affordable, a lot of space between sites so you feel like you have some privacy. A beautiful hiking trail. Definitely bring some bug spray for the mosquitos
Sites were great but a little wet. Some of the south trails are closed because its too wet.
Camper Cabin (Eastern Bluebird)🏡🐦
Perfect little cabin nestled in the southern half of the park! Screened in porch, heated with electricity, and two double bunk beds!

This was an interesting state park, I’m glad we came here for a day trip instead of booking anything for the nicer months. There is basically one trail that goes along the river between the two campgrounds, and that appears to be it.
Most people were there for ice fishing at this time of year,…
This campground is small and quaint...plenty of space without being too close to your neighbors. Super easy to social distance here.
We visited in winter (February) and while there was snow on the ground, the spaces were kept plowed with easy access to the electric boxes. We were in a…
