The campground at Jay Cooke State Park is really nice. The sites are well maintained and private (for the most part. More on that later), and the shower and bathroom facilities are really top notch. Plus, lots of great hikes nearby and only 25min from Duluth.
Sites: Most sites are very…

We camped here mid-week and the place was not full so it was quiet and sites have trees and shrubs for some privacy. We saw a Baltimore Oriole which is something we don't see often in Northern MN.
We found a great walk-in site that was off the beaten path, with plenty of space to spread out. The swinging bridge is a great attraction, although very crowded. The hiking thins out as you venture further away from the bridge. Overall a great park with many updated amenities
North east Minnesota has some very beautiful country. Highly recommend this spot.

We stayed here one night and part of the next day. We camped in the older Ochegie campground (site #1) near the historic native village site and trail. There were few people camping so it was quiet. We called the office as no one had been staffing it when we arrived. The ranger was very nice and…

We stayed here one night in a nice wooded site not far from the beaches of Mille Lacs Lake. Nice trails too. Big picnic and beach area with a roofed picnic spot. We did not use any of the park restrooms as we have a self-contained RV. Lovely views of the really big lake!
In town, near fuel and a grocery store.
Perfect little camper cabin and site. Fabulous park staff that even turned the heater on for us before we arrived. The cabin has electricity, heat, no plumbing. No cooking inside, wonderful fire ring for cooking, which we used at night.

Great campground for an RV park. The sites are decent sized, with a few scattered trees. Nice amenities and facilities. It’s a great place to come if you want to have a last-minute camping weekend.
This is an excellent campground for tent (or van/truck) sites and mountain biking. Sites are gorgeous and secluded, a bike trail heads off from camp, there's showers, a sauna, and a lake. Wonderful vibe, not an RV park (although there are 3 or 4 RV sites), more similar to a national forest…
Quiet little place, far enough away from too many things to make you feel like you're in town but anything you need is a hop skip and jump away. Paved walking and biking trails and hundreds of miles of ATV trails connected right to the rv park. Would recommend

I prefer being in the woods, but this is great for last minute booking.
Pros. Full hookups. On park, next to playground and beach. Walking distance to restaurants and bars, And easily bike to the Cuyuna Mountain Bike Trails.
Cons. Road noise and low privacy.
