Well maintained and plenty of trails around the lake. Enjoyed two night here. Site 108
This was our first time here at lake Somerville birch creek. It was a great one. We stayed in old hickory loop. Lots of trees and plenty of shade. Short trip from Houston so we will definitely be going back!

This is by far the most poorly put together RV park I’ve seen in a very long time. Online site layout doesn’t match the physical layout. The owner and the manager can’t figure it out, and the office staff just say sorry. At check in, a friend of ours was told just to “do your best to make it work,…
We stumbled upon this park when we were visiting family in the area. It’s a gem! Very well maintained, clean, nice big spaces and good distance between you and your neighbor. Friendly and helpful owners. Also, check out the bulletin area in the laundry room, there’s a lot going on and ways to…

Gorgeous setting, but very crowded. People pull up for the day with no qualms about being in your campsite. It’s noisy. The staff is very kind. Upon leaving we could not believe the piles of garbage left….and there are plenty of dumpsters! Definitely worth visiting, though.
Stopped into here on the way from Austin down to the coast.
Snagged site #4 and I was the only one in the primitive camp area.
Bathrooms at entrance station stayed unlocked overnight for my use.
AT&T cell service was good enough for me to do some work on my hotspot.
Went for a nice…
I like this park because it's close to home. It's got a good space between sites and is broken into 3 or 4 areas so you're not just piled in like sardines. You can being 4-wheeled vehicles that have a steering wheel. No sewer hookups, but there is a dump station. Unfortunately, subsequent major…

Felt like i was camping on the infield of a racetrack surrounded by a promenade of cars/trucks playing loud music- will be hard-pressed to ever go back
WARNING! if you use Get Directions & Google Maps on this page, it likely will route you to the wrong location.
The correct access point is from the SouthEast, via the town of Marquez. From the four way stop in Marquez, head North about a quarter mile and then make a left on 1146 just before…
Camp sites are spaced out nicely, the lake is beautiful. The campsites are clean. The restrooms are not clean
I'm surprised no one else has reviewed this place yet, it is awesome! Other than the occasional local on their boats making noise, this place was pretty serene. The drive to the location is very rural once you exit 45. Many nice folks in the community here were waving at me when I drove by.
The sites have nice paved spots, many have views of the lake, and are spacious. We stayed in the equestrian area since the other area for non equestrian sites is currently closed. There are trails you can access in the park, with many more miles a short drive away. Two bridges are out on the…
We stayed equestrian site 4 which is a fairly private site. Moon was nearly full and the coyotes were howling all night long. All in all it was a nice small state park with great views of Lake Somerville.
This is the second time we have stayed here. This time was from Christmas Eve until the Sunday after. This place doesn’t disappoint. There are nice hiking trails. The lake views are beautiful. All the campsites appear to be very well kept. My husband went fishing for a bit. He didn’t catch…
