Lake Hawkins County RV Park

Concrete pads and spacious sites define this county-operated facility on the shores of Lake Hawkins. The campground accommodates both RVs and tent campers, with full hookups available at select sites and a honey wagon service for those without sewer connections. A fenced perimeter marks the boundary of this day-use and overnight facility.

Lake access draws many visitors here, particularly during summer months when the sandy swimming beach sees heavy use from both campers and day visitors. The park maintains a designated swimming area for overnight guests separate from the general public beach. A boat dock and fishing pier extend into the lake's clear waters. Jon S. notes the campground is "very clean well kept" with "huge spaces" and good AT&T cell coverage.

Weekend crowds contrast sharply with weekday quiet, according to multiple campers. The tent camping area frequently hosts local scout groups and church organizations. A walking path that doubles as a service road provides access around the property. Shower houses serve both camping areas, and a small camp store stocks basic necessities.

The park works best for RVers seeking lake access and families comfortable with busy weekend conditions. Campers exploring camping destinations around Hawkins will find this county facility offers reliable amenities and direct water access at a reasonable day-use fee structure.

Very good county campground

Nice spaced out sites, plenty of room to enjoy the stay. Limited number of full hook ups but they have a honey wagon. Will definitely come back to this park.

Great local park!

Great local park. Small but well maintained. Owned and operated by a really great family. This is one of our “go to” parks when we stay close to home.

Very enjoyable

We visited here for a weekend get away with friends and their families. We all have young kids and had a blast, playing at the sandy beach on the lake and just enjoying some play time around the campsites

Has the amenities

Campground is available for RVs, tents, and large groups. There are showers and toilets available. Water/electric/sewer hook ups are also available. The grounds have a fence that indicate it is a private area. It borders Lake Hawkins, has a boat dock, fishing pier, and an improved swimming area. Sites are somewhat private but the tent side is frequented by local groups such as scouts or churches. There is a walking path that is called a trail by the park, it is mostly an access service road that a golf cart can drive on. The are is popular for daytime use in the summer because of the improved swimming area. There is a day use fee, per person, and a camping fee. The grounds are county owned and operated. Dogs are welcome.
