Cooper Lake feels secluded. Lots of trees with a beautiful lake and well maintained hiking trails. It’s close enough to the Dallas area to be convenient, but never feels crowded.
Nice campground I just wish more of there spots were full hookup.
Seems to be the newer (or newly renovated unit) with a ton of camping options! Sits seemed close together but sections were really spread out! Enjoyed the inner-active trail and the fishing pier at the day use area! Really cool playground area bear the swimming area.

Site 69 will take a 45’ motor coach. We have camped several times here but this time the water pressure was a joke. Very few campers. We had to use onboard water pump for everything.
This park was beautiful. We stayed at campsite 8 in the bright star loop and it was one of the best campsites I've stayed in. It was spacious and felt very private even though we knew there were other campsites close by. The site was also pretty level. We only stayed one night because we were just…
We camped at Oak grove 97 campsite and cannot stress on how beautiful it is to be right by the lake!
You want to get make sure to get there before the sunset, it’s beautiful to see the orange layer over the water. Nothing better than kayaking/paddle boarding or tubing into the sunset.
We really enjoyed the park it is pretty wide and spread out on lake cooper. We stayed in the Brightstar area of the park and had a great time. The bathrooms were very clean and in good working order. Was a great getaway not to far outside of Dallas TX. We will come back for sure. Has a beach area…
The South Sulphur campground is about half an hour north of Interstate 30. It’s under a 2 hour drive from the DFW area so, I find it’s a nice weekend getaway. I camped here on a Sunday to Monday and it was very quiet. I was one of only 5 campers in the Deer Haven section (aside from the 3 camp…

Quite, shaded, level concrete RV sites with water and electricity! Each site has a covered table. Nice swim beach, boat ramp. Great hiking trails! This park is great for kayaking & fishing! If you stay here , you should drive in downtown Sulphur Spring’s , lots of restaurants and they have 2…
Clean bathrooms, good playground and beach area. Cabins, RV, equestrian and tent sites.
Can’t wait to go again!
Very nice park with some great RV spots. If hiking, beware the Coyote Run Trail. A lot of toxic fracking going in in the area.
The park was ok but not a whole lot to explore. The park had search dog training I assume while I was there. Heard barking dogs all night.
The campground was nice but not many trails near our campsite.
The best local place to camp!!! All sites are on the water and clean. We stay several times a year. My kiddos love being able to swim or fish anytime, because we’re so close to the water.
