Great place to camp- friendly staff and clean facilities. Lots of spots directly on or near the lake.

Headed there a few week or ago and truly enjoyed our stay. So much so, were going back this week. Electric, water and piece and quiet.
Very large camp site ver clean
Had a nice time in a woody area with lots or privacy and not too far from the water. Basic amenities
Man, this would have been a great little camp ground if the grass wasn’t so overgrown. Nothing like taking a nice shower and then having to walk back to your campsite in 2 feet of grass and get bit up by all the bugs in the grass! The bathrooms were clean and campsites were spacious. Pretty view of…
Cooper Lake feels secluded. Lots of trees with a beautiful lake and well maintained hiking trails. It’s close enough to the Dallas area to be convenient, but never feels crowded.
Seems to be the newer (or newly renovated unit) with a ton of camping options! Sits seemed close together but sections were really spread out! Enjoyed the inner-active trail and the fishing pier at the day use area! Really cool playground area bear the swimming area.

The older of the two units, buildings were still in good shape, the trails were good, a lot of deer to be seen! Best SP store Ive ever been too. I cant wait to go back!

Good spot. I stayed in my hammock and buddy in his tent back in Nov 2019. Stopped just before a cold front with rain hit and built a fire. Found a long sheet of tent to reflect the heat so had a great time hiking in.
Platter Flats is usually quiet. It's been our favorite campsite for years because of this. We've always been able to find and open spot with a nice view.
This place is awesome, quiet, The they have two different trails to walk on. The RV spaces are further apart than your average RV Park. What really sets this place apart is the Managers, They go out of their way to treat you like you are welcome. I will be going back.
We were here in early December, so the campground wasn't very busy. We liked our site, pretty spacious with views of the water. The ranger said this loop is the quieter, less busy side of Cooper Lake. Easy, short hiking trails. Playground & a swimming beach. I imagine this would be a fun,…
This park was beautiful. We stayed at campsite 8 in the bright star loop and it was one of the best campsites I've stayed in. It was spacious and felt very private even though we knew there were other campsites close by. The site was also pretty level. We only stayed one night because we were just…
Pay $5 to park inside the gated area and have access to the trail
