Yoakum County Park

Golf course enthusiasts and travelers seeking a convenient overnight stop will find Yoakum County Park positioned within Denver City's municipal complex. This county-managed facility provides around ten RV sites with electric hookups supporting 20, 30, and 50-amp service, plus water connections and an on-site dump station. The campground operates year-round at no charge to visitors.

Sites accommodate RVs up to 35 feet and feature gravel surfaces with picnic tables. A duck pond and golf course share the property, while oil pumping operations throughout the surrounding area create a distinctive petroleum scent, particularly during morning and afternoon hours. Campers consistently report quiet conditions overnight, though occasional traffic and maintenance activity occur during daytime hours.

The facility includes trash bins across from the camping area and allows both campfires and pets. County staff maintain the grounds and often greet arriving visitors. Deb M. notes the setup includes "free electricity and water hookups" with "signs on the poles" marking each connection. Most campers use this location for single-night stays while traveling through the region.

For extended stays in the area, nearby options include C & B RV Park and Arrowhead Mobile Park. Arrive prepared for the oil field environment and consider this stop best suited for practical overnight camping rather than extended recreation.

Great little park with a golf course next to it

This place is awesome! Free electricity and water hookups. The signs are on the poles. The couple who take care of the place greeted us with a big welcome to Denver City! Will definitely try to fit this into our travels again.

Great!

A free county park with electric, garbage and RV dump. Sunday night and we’re the only RV here. Nicely kept by the county.

Works for the night

Traveling through in my camper van so didn’t need to use the hook ups but they are available! There’s multiple RV hook ups along the left yellow rail. There’s trash bins across the road as well. Arrived on a Wednesday and was the only one there. Extremely quiet at night. Some occasional traffic the next day and had some maintenance folks fixing the sprinklers but overall, pretty quiet. It does smell of oil during the morning/afternoon which is expected being surrounded by oil fields. Felt safe and would stay again if passing through. And it’s free!

Free hookups!

I give this a 4 because it’s free lol. The city was nice enough to provide around 10 or so (we were the only campers for 2 nights) free sites with power (20/30/50) and water. There is also a dump site on property. All free! Duck pond and golf course also. The town is nothing but oil pumpers everywhere and it smells of oil in the air, but if you’ve been driving awhile it’s a welcome stop. And... free! ;)
