The Point Campground is located at the fun-filled Lake of the Arbuckles, which is considered a recreational oasis in south-central Oklahoma. As part of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, the Point impresses visitors with its diversity of natural resources. The area's unique plants, spring waters and geological formations are unlike any in the surrounding territory. Explore the prairie-landscape for a chance to see bison, white-tailed deer, opossum, gophers or black-tailed jackrabbits. Recreation Hikers, birdwatchers and wildflower enthusiasts enjoy exploring this diverse ecosystem. The streams and lakes cater to boaters, swimmers, and anglers, and the Multi-Use Trail is enjoyable for hikers, bikers and horseback riders. Hunting is also permitted in varying seasons. Facilities Arbuckle Lake Camping at The Point offers more amenities than most of its neighboring campsites, including electric and water hookups. It's great for RV, trailer or tent camping. Natural Features Chickasaw lies in a zone where the eastern deciduous forest and western prairies converge. The park's flora and fauna represent both environments, as well as a unique transition environment. Lake of the Arbuckles is the largest lake in the park covering 2,350 acres. Nearby Attractions Try Little Niagara, a favorite freshwater swimming hole. The Travertine Nature Center is a wonderful resource to view nature exhibits, meet live animals on display and listen to rangers' presentations. The Point Campground (ok) Chickasaw Nra

Loop A is open seasonally. It has 21 campsites including 1 accessible site; all of these sites are first come, first served. Showers are available in the restrooms. Loop B is open seasonally. It has 26 campsites including 1 accessible site; all sites in this loop are first come, first served. Showers are available in the restrooms. Loop C is open year-round. It has 43 campsites including two acessible sites. All sites are available by reservation only. Showers are available in the restrooms. There are 17 electrical sites (30 amp). Sites with electrical hookups also have water hookups. There are no sewer hook ups in the campground. A dump station can be found on Buckhorn Road outside of the campground. Loop D is open year-round. It has 51 campsites including 3 accessible sites. All sites are first come, first served. Showers are available in the restrooms. There are 24 electrical sites (30 amp). Sites with electrical hookup also have water hookups. There are no sewer hook ups in the campground. A dump station can be found on Buckhorn Road outside of the campground. Buckhorn area campgrounds are within close proximity to the Lake of the Arbuckles. Comfortable campsites and a lighthearted atmosphere makes this site an excellent place to camp. The Lake of the Arbuckles was built in 1966 by the Bureau of Land Reclamation, and has been voted the best bass fishing in Oklahoma. Boat ramps and docks are available throughout the 36 miles of shoreline. Look for wildlife like the red fox, bobcat, and opossum, and watch the trees for glimpses of flying squirrels. Recreation Bring your boat or jet skis and cruise the lake, or pack your fishing rods to catch some of the state's finest bass, perch and crappies. The area is most popular for water sports, but hiking and biking is a great way to explore the land and take in views of the lake. Facilities Buckhorn is one of only two campsites in Chickasaw with electric hookups and water. It's an ideal location for families and friends ready for a mix of camping and boating. The C Loop of the campsite is open year-round. Natural Features Set in the naturally diverse Chickasaw National Recreation Area, Buckhorn Campground is surrounded by unique flora, fauna and geological formations. The hilly land is covered with partial prairie and partial forest, with natural springs cutting through spectacular rock formations. Nearby Attractions Hike or bike on the unpaved Rock Creek Multi-Use Trail or head up Rock Creek for a visit to the Chickasaw Cultural Center. There, you can learn all about the Native Americans of the region through exhibits, videos and interactive displays.
