Horrible

Having such a hard time finding a spot at lake Murray we chose to spend our summers at by the lake rv park. The past couple of summers were amazing but at the end of last summer the previous owners sold the park. I was hoping to have the same experience I previously had. Boy was I wrong. The new owners don't seem to have much hand in the operating of the park. We started our summer stay this year the beginning of May. We were paid up till the 1st of September but chose to leave early and forfeit about a week we were already paid for just to be free from this park. The first couple of months were not bad but at the end of July things turned south real fast. The district manager came to observe the park due to the occupancy being low. First off the 4th of July this year there were lots of empty spot which was very uncommon due to previous years. They had always allowed guest to park boats, jet skis and extra vehicles in the two over flow lots. We were told within the first week that the district manager was there to move our stuff from the back lots(that the park manager at the time allotted for extended stay guest) to the front because they were going to revamp the back lot and start charging for parking. This might have not been a issue if I was not already paying almost$700/mo. We were told we would have to pay per thing we had in overflow. I just do happen to have 3 kids that all drive so this was going to cost a lot real fast. Then the general manager informed me that we were not allowed to have guest come to visit our spot we paid for because this park was for temporary stays and not extended stays. Then she complained about our chairs outside as if we were not allowed to enjoy being outside. Next my daughters boyfriend was banned from driving in the park because he parked at our neighbors camper(they gave us permission to park there during the week because they only came on the weekends and we were informed that was against the rules) and because she did not like his horn or his music( even if it was during the day and not quiet hours). He just so happen to had just started a job at the park doing maintenance and when the big manager came she fired him because she did not want to work around his school schedule. It was one thing after another all of which I was threatened to be kicked out for. Never have I had so many issues as I did in just the 2 weeks the district manager was there before we left. Unfortunately not a lot of people camp in the winter time so the extended stay people are important to keeping the park running in the off season. The general manager fired the park manager, all park employees quit and close to 10 extended stay people chose to move to a different park. The last couple of days we were there the pool was so green we would not swim in it and the bathrooms were gross. Please choose a different park for your stay if you want a peaceful place to stay.

Very nice

Excellent (new) park with clean well placed lots. It will be even better once the small shade trees grow up more. Pool was very nice.

I great place to stop for the night!

Sites are concrete and level. Bathrooms and showers were big and clean. Nice big dog park. The pool did not look to be very clean and the out door showers by the pool were not working. Wish we could have seen the game room, but they lock it up after they close.

Sweet Resort Style Camping

This is a great family owned RV resort with easy access,.8 miles, to and from I-35 via exit 24 about halfway between Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Dallas Texas; absolutely no interstate noise. Beautiful country setting among the rolling hills and just a mile and a half from the entrance to Lake Murray State Park offering water activities on the centerpiece 5,278 surface acre Lake Murray, 18 hole golf, picnicking, fishing, camping, trail riding, hayrides, 30 miles of hiking, swimming, miniature golf, 100 acres of ATV trails, several marinas and more. The resort amenities include a clubhouse, inground pool, playground, basketball, dog park, lake with firepits, bathhouse, laundry, ice, propane fill station, free wi fi and cable TV. All interior roads are paved, pads are all concrete with irrigated grass lawns, 50/30/15 amp electric, water, sewer, table and cable on 90 large pull throughs and 38 back-ins. Verizon 4 bars. Camp hosts on site and the staff is very welcoming. This park is extremely well cared for and relatively new...so as the trees mature so will the shade and the aesthetics. Great place for a long term stay or just a weekend getaway. The nearby town of Ardmore has all the necessities: shopping, dining, groceries, fuel and Walmart and just a short distance to Winstar Casino(one of the largest in the world) plus several museums and cultural centers. 1031 Lodge Rd, Ardmore, Oklahoma, 73401 l www.bythelakerv.com l 580-798-4721 l GPS 34.071845,-97.132978

Great Campground!

This is a great new RV Park. It's less than half a mile east of I-35 but I cannot hear any traffic noise at all. It is less than 4 years old. 90 % of the sites are pull through, long enough for any size rig. All concrete pads, dead level with tables. The bathrooms and showers are pristine. WIFI is fast enough to stream 40Mbps, there is cable TV with over 70 channels. It is 7 miles from Ardmore, OK, where you can find all the chain restaurants plus local fare. You are about 40 miles from Gainsville Texas, 70 from Denton. There is a fishing pond onsite, about 1 acre in size. They charge $5.00 extra for a site next to the pond. It's worth it. Rolling hills beyond the pond with no other buildings in sight. The park is only a few miles from Lake Murry State Park. I only stayed 1 night on my way back to Dallas from the mountains, but it could be a great destination park too.

Amazing amenities minutes from the lake

This RV park is one of our favorites. The amenities are amazing, concrete pads, full hook ups, a fishing pond, great pool, volleyball, basketball, and dog park made our 10 day stay incredible. I didn’t use them, but my husband said the bathrooms/showers were the cleanest he’s ever seen. Aside from how great the actual park is, the staff is amazing, best customer service ever and they do all they can to make you feel welcome.

The park is minutes from the marina, a fishing pier, and great hiking. We just left and are already booking another trip this summer.
