Free camping on Fort Gibson Lake, managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, with a 14-day stay limit and no reservation required. The access road is mostly gravel but manageable for standard vehicles. Sites are open terrain with plenty of tent space, and some include grills and picnic tables. No trash cans are on-site, so campers need to pack out their waste. Direct lake access from camp is limited; the boat ramp nearby works better for reaching the water. Jackson Bay Marina sits just 0.1 miles away for those who want closer waterfront facilities. Cell service is available, and the area faces the lake with open sightlines toward the water at sunrise. Worth a stop if you're routing through northeast Oklahoma near old Route 66.
