    Spot comes up on you Fast when driving: Tip if you come from Talihini: You'll see a very clear road on your LEFT (Another Spot) slow down and look on your Right. You'll see the Tree Pattern & the fire pit in the Pictures Posted

    Road into Site: Slightly Rocky but w/ Quality Tires No Issue

    Privacy Level: Medium-High (You'll see the road but I'd say 1-2 cars drove by every 3-4 hours and could hardly hear them.) The spot comes up so fast also that if you aren't looking for it you probably don't even notice anyone there.

    Pros: 2 Man Made Fire Pits, Van Accessible. The view is good but it's not grand. For a free remote camping spot though, a perfect add-on. Mosquito Activity is almost non-existent.

    Cons: Gnats were pretty consistent but it was Ticks that cut it short for us. Found 2 on me back to back: made an effort from that point on to be more aware: went to the restroom within 30 seconds, I had another one crawling up my leg. God knows how many are on the Dog 🐕 🫠

    Recommended: 8/10. Eye shot of the Road is Nice: B/c if it starts raining the road in can get mucky but it did its jobs w/o issue.

    Camping starts at $15 now for all sights. There are no curtains on the stalls but they are a clean and the bathrooms by the RVs have hot water.

    Nice spot

    Campground easy to find and access. The map at office provided was poor quality, map on web site better. Staff was helpful and courtious. Nice campgrounds, some are available for 12 months but those are in their own section. Big disappoint was no bath house, one rest room with a handicap shower. But that restroom near horse corals and smell was present. The lake was nice respite to a hot and long day. The grounds are well manicured, clean and mowed. It's a very large facility but spread out so it does not feel crowded.

    Route 66 RV Park

    Clean and pleasant

    Although our lot which was in a concrete pad was not level, everything else we used was good. We had full hookups for a reasonable price especially with AAA discount. Seemed a little out of the way but worth it. We needed to stop somewhere to get something mg for the RV and happened on the park manager. She was personable and helpful. She recommended Braum’s ice cream shop and diner. Only an 8 minute walk away; it was a quaint place to visit.

    A little hard to find because the only sign is set in, about 100 feet from the road. Enter where the sign says ‘off road trails’ and then turn right on the road the encircles the large parking area. Lots of nice sites and almost all were empty on a June weeknight.

    Quiet spot with clean showers, $16 well spent

    For $16 we got a quiet, shaded spot by the lake with clean showers. Since we only carry a camp shower and privacy is a bit hard to come by in this part of the country, it was a worthwhile investment.

    Atchley's Route 66 RV Park

    Clean, Quiet, Overnight stay

    We stayed one night and it was great. Right off I-40 but surprisingly quiet. Area is very clean and owner is very nice and helpful. We pulled in to take a look after a long day and called and she told us which spots were available (you can see on the website too and book there). Definitely would stay again.
