Woodchute Trail Dispersed Camping - Mingus Mtn

Beautiful Junipers & Pines, lots of wildlife and nice camping spots spaced apart. I ❤ this mountain.

Nice and wild

Nice forested area in Prescott Forest. Few level sites for my rig and lots of nails on the ground from pallet wood.

Senator Hwy Dispersed

These dispersed spots are a good ways outside of Prescott. It’s a nice getaway after being in the busy Sedona area for the past five days. Some mosquitoes were still around but they left me alone after dark. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of trash at the campsite, left by previous occupants.

Awesome!

This place is so pretty! So easy to get to so that was really nice! Loved the views! We were at campsite 4 and it was right by a river and this really cool cave thing! Only down side was there was so many little bugs flying around so they got really annoying at night.

High up and So Cool!

Up in the pines and smells great! Lots of dispersed spots waiting for you but the early bird gets best choice!

Beautiful! Amazing camp site!

If you are looking for a tucked back get away this is it. We got site on the ridge and it is absolutely beautiful. The view is amazing and the sunset is something I can’t even describe. The host Charles and Sara are absolutely amazing and very accommodating. They made sure we found the place and…

It’s not so bad

Sure, some people don’t know how to pick up after themselves, but I wouldn’t rate it poorly for that reason alone. I always bring a large heavy duty trash bag to pick up whatever I can reasonably fit into my forester. There’s no amazing view but I had no idea there were such forested places in a…

Beautiful and Convenient

This campground located just outside of Downtown Prescott is one of my favorites for a little time away.  The grounds and trails are well maintained, with little to no facilities, they allow for tent and self contained camping.  Close proximity to a plethora of trails and wildlife, the Thumb Butte…

Dispersed camping

Both Potatoe Patch and Mingus Campground sites were full by Friday at around 5PM in early October. We were told by the camp host we could go down Forest Service Rd 132 for dispersed camping. Before the road gets too steep, there are flat-ish sites off the dirt road. Even those were mostly taken, so…

High Desert Canyon Overlook

This site sits on top of a red rock mesa that is actually on the side of a canyon. You can hike to the meadows below. The land is full of ancient twisted juniper trees and several varieties of cactus. Their is a sand pad to pitch your ten that has amazing views of the valley below and a dormant…

Nice Enough

We stayed one night and enjoyed the stay. Toilets were clean and it was very quiet considering the place was completely full. We took a very nice hike down to and around the lake.

One strange occurrence. Two trucks pulled up to the dumpster and started unloading like 20 bags of garbage. Weird…

Great views

This campground had fantastic views of Cottonwood and Sedona. Each spot was spread out and had a fire pit and picnic table. Unfortunately the electric doesn’t work anymore so no power to each site. There is water in each loop available. Dirt road out there is pretty rough and entire campground is…

Prescott Camping

Another great camping spot !! Not that far at all from Phoenix, 20 min from Prescott! If you find the right campsite you can look out over the mountains into the valley! 7000 feet elevation 💯👍
