Justin's Diamond J RV Park

Part of Tucson's desert landscape, Justin's Diamond J RV Park sits on the edge of undeveloped parkland with direct trail access to surrounding desert terrain. This private RV park operates year-round and accommodates rigs up to 50 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections.

The park functions primarily as a long-term residence facility, with short-term visitors typically assigned gravel sites near the road. These sites lack picnic tables but provide necessary hookups for overnight stays. Most spaces are large but not clearly defined, requiring some navigation upon arrival. The office maintains irregular hours, with some campers reporting self-parking arrangements when staff is unavailable.

Desert vegetation surrounds the property, including various cacti and succulents native to the Sonoran Desert. Walking trails lead directly from the campground into adjacent public lands, providing immediate access to hiking without driving elsewhere. Norrie W. notes that "no real shade is available as the trees are desert spindly," a consideration for summer camping.

The facility includes laundry services, a gathering room, and recreational courts for pickleball and tennis. Cell service reports vary by carrier, with some reviewers noting strong Verizon coverage. Cash payment is required, as credit cards are not accepted. For extended desert exploration, campers can find additional places to camp near Cortaro within the broader Tucson area.

Many visitors appreciated the spacious sites and proximity to Saguaro National Park trails. Some campers noted concerns about limited amenities and inconsistent office availability, though helpful staff received praise when accessible.

The Nicest People

I love Tucson. The big plus about this park (other than the really nice people) is that is borders park land and there are SO many acres and miles of trails right out of the campground. The grounds and the surrounding desert have an abundance of interesting succulents and cacti and gorgeous mountains all around. Most of the folks here are long termers- we only stayed for 4 days. The sites for short termers are by the road and not the best, just gravel sites with full hookups, but sufficient for our needs. No picnic tables. No public toilets. Laundry facilities and a gathering room.

Nice clean quiet well kept RV Park

We stayed there for a week in February 2022 visiting family and friends, and exploring the attractions of the area.

Justin’s is a busy place and office staff were almost always on the phone trying to arrange nights of availability or help the travelers any way that they could. When we called they could accommodate us but we ended up in 3 different spots over our week’s stay as there were reservations for the spots that they needed to honor. For us it wasn’t a big deal as we were in a 31’ Minihome. When no space was available I overheard them offering free dry camping until a spot opened up. The business has a very capable and customer focused staff.

The RV Park is clean and capably run. We really enjoyed our stay there and we would return again.

An interesting feature of the Park is that it has walking trails that lead to the Saguaro National Park, but the area around the RV Park is rich with the native plants of the area all on its own. If you travel through Tucson, Saguaro National Park’s Desert Museum is a recommended place to go.

Rather disorganized

Sites are not well defined but once you know where to park the sites are quite large. No real shade is available as the trees are desert spindly. There has been no one in the office and we were told to just park anywhere.

Have to pay cash or check

Justin's Diamond J doesn't allow credit card payment and doesn't have online reservations. It's adult only and had a bunch of restrictions. No use of washers/dryers in RVs, no streaming/skyping, no electric heaters. Breed restrictions on pets. See photo for brochure. There are pickleball/tennis courts, a dog area, horse shoes and bocce ball. Sites are full hookup. Premium sites offer better views and have more privacy.

Great Sky Views

Great views of the sky at night and very quiet but we were never able to get in touch with anyone from the office. Nice spacious sites but the common areas really need some love. There’s no pool which is a must have in Arizona’s heat. Great Verizon cell signal no WiFi, or could never get in touch with anyone to get a code.
