Nice overnight stay

Nice campground near highway. Nice pleasant staff. Bathrooms were clean. Beautiful setting with mountain right behind the campground. Short walking trails within campground. Near lots of shopping and restaurants. Lots of sites packed into the grounds and the roadways were a little tight. With that said there was enough room for big rigs to maneuver around. They allowed fires. Small store with variety of essentials. It was a nice place to spend the night.

Standard KOA experience

Great site if you need a quick stop in flagstaff. Camp is clean, great staff, AC and water available at most sites.

The camp had lots of available spots when I stayed in early June. But it looks like the place is super packed in high season. Don’t expect a quiet remote experience.

Camp is close to the highway. Mild but constant car noise.

Would not stay again

Laundry was not in service. Internet was not usable. Same for cable. Sites were not level. Water was not available part of the stay. Grounds did not appear kept up or in good repair. I think the staff felt a lot of the same frustration

Last minute switch, glad we did!

Great! Spot 150 very tight 3 point to get into with 22 ft, but— back of the koa, view of Cocochino National Forest. Access to tons of hiking trails out back door (Elden Lookout, Farman’s loop, etc). Walking trail around perimeter great for dogs. Wi-Fi weak and didn’t reach sight but Verizon signal good. Would definitely have been a different feel at a more central spot. About 15 minutes to downtown Flagstaff. Nice Circle K to fuel up right across the street. Only did 2 nights- would have definitely liked a few more.

Camp spots are big

Very nice KOA. The spots are wide and deep. Lots of trees for nice shade and the road noise is minimal. There are a lot of spot for gas and food just at the entrance.

Staff was on point, helpful and friendly. Trash cans and hookups were close.

However, the sure are pretty close to each other, uneven gravel parking.

Mostly good

Pretty campground. Nice staff. Sites are pretty close together. Wifi was spotty. General store and 2 convenience stores across the road. Like the breakfast truck on-site. Bathrooms are a bit dated but very functional

Not Tent Friendly

I went because it was advertised as tent friendly… And even though there are a couple tenting spots, there are not a lot, and the ones they had are overlooking the busy road ahead. If you have a camper or an RV you might like this place. But if you’re tent camping like myself, I’d stay away

Nice spot to stay.

Campground is directly at the bottom of a mountain so it’s some nice views. Showers are clean, and lots of laundry machines.

Spots are spacious and have good electrical hookups as well as good water, for our site anyway.

Fenced in area for dogs, and close to flagstaff.

Cozy up north feel

Lots of pine trees, sites are gravel. Edge sites for smaller rigs, class c and b’s, are very unlevel. Pull throughs aren’t as bad, but leveling is required. Laundry room only has 3 washers and 3 dryers working, over half are broken. Very nice playground for kids but the big slide has a 2-3foot drop at the bottom which is a safety concern. Trails accessible from the campground. We would stay here again.

Expensive for what you get

Staff is super friendly, but the laundry room only has two machines that work, bathroom isn’t the cleanest, and the sites aren’t very level.

Great campground

This was an amazing Campground with great views. The sites are a little tight and ours was not level so we had to work to get our big trailer level. The campground is right on the side of a mount elder so you can hike without ever leaving the park. Facilities are convenient although the showers were pretty cold. Staff was amazing friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!

Very cute campground

We really liked this place! Great location in Flagstaff, right at the base of Mt Elden, the tent sites have a sectioned off area for the tent and the WiFi worked pretty well. The bathrooms were pretty clean. The only downside was the electrical box was a little too far away from the tent area. Overall we had a good experience.

Poor site

The site that we have is not level no grass, just dirt as if I was ruff camping in the mountains. The sites are so close we can hear the people talking inside their campers. The bathrooms were clean but needs some updating done. I would not recommend this to anyone. The internet is poor. Having hard time getting on. Keeps tell us the connection is poor.l

Great last minute reservation

Our ETA for the Grand Canyon ended up being later than usual yet we were in search of showers. We were going to just shower at a Love’s nearby and then head to a dispersed campsite; Love’s timed showers were $13 per person.

I don’t usually prefer KOA campsites because they’re always pricey for the bare minimum space. I ended up calling Flagstaff KOA and they had last minute reservations for a simple campsite with no hookups; we were van camping. The price was the same as it would have been to have two showers at Love’s. I was impressed.

Evening Temperatures were low 20s and expected to get lower as the night grew. Great last minute decision. It’s about an hour and a half from the Grand Canyon. Would stay here again if In the area.

Flagstaff KOA

Typically we avoid KOAs because

  1. They're expensive
  2. They offer no privacy and the sites are cramped However, in November 2020 we were trying to outrun freezing temperatures and snow between Moab, UT and our next destination further south in Arizona. The plan was to get over the pass and closer to Phoenix. But 20 miles north of Flagstaff the snow started falling and we felt most comfortable stopping. We chose an RV park so we could plug in to run heaters and to fill up with water (we were quite low). A couple other RV parks had pretty low reviews so I checked out the KOA website. Surprisingly they were on-par with the lower rate parks price wise and their bathrooms and showers were open even during Covid (the lower rated parks weren't allowing bathroom use). In addition to the flush toilet bathrooms and free, hot showers we used their clean and large laundry facility and the kids played on the playground even though it was freezing. We made a day trip of visiting Grand Canyon to see it blanketed in snow. The sites are close together but since we were inside the entire time and just stopped for 2 days it was fine. Stay here over the others in town... just read the reviews!

Awesome views on the campsite. We paid for a premium site which I think is definitely worth it if you’re only staying for a couple days. Right next to the trails that lead up to Mt. Elden. Highly recommend staying here.
