Forest Road 305 - Dispersed Camping

Multiple dispersed sites line this dirt forest road, offering campers flexibility in choosing their spot along the route. Forest Road 305 forms a loop through the Kaibab National Forest, with various pullouts and clearings where RVs up to 20 feet can maneuver comfortably. The road provides drive-in access to most sites, though some require a short walk from the parking area.

Established fire rings mark many of the camping spots, and campers report finding both smaller intimate sites and larger areas suitable for groups. The forest setting provides natural screening between sites, though the road remains close to the main highway. Cell service reaches most locations along the route. Several reviewers mention encountering few other campers, particularly during weekday visits, though October brings heavier use.

"We got there late easy to find follow google already dispersed spots some small some large," notes JESUS IS KING C.. One camper warns about seasonal beetle activity during late spring that can make evening activities challenging. The area connects to other dispersed camping near Kaibab National Forest options, including nearby Old Grand Canyon Airport Forest Road - Dispersed Camping.

This free camping option works well for travelers needing an overnight stop or those preferring primitive camping without reservations or fees.

Visitors often highlighted the spacious, flexible camping with multiple sites along the forest road and existing fire pits. Most found it secluded and quiet, though proximity to main road noted. Free primitive camping that's easy to access.

Great Boondocking Spot

We wanted an off the beaten path experience and we certainly got it here. There are a bunch of sites further back with turning spots, we have a 20ft camper and there was plenty of room to move around. There are multiple spaces to park with fire pits.

Great Dispersed Camping site

I needed a place to camp on my road trip, and this was great. It looks like there are several places to camp along this road. Here are the coordinates for the place I slept. 35.8428720, -112.1266171 There's a fire ring and privacy. I did not see any people. I arrived after dark and I left at dawn.

Great Area

We drove a little bit further along the road and just wanted to turn around and found another Campsite there. Great area, seems like some people also built a firepit, although we didn't use that. Took a walk around and the forest is beautiful.

Nice dispersed campground place

We came in around 8PM in July and there was plenty of space. Only one other camper there. A close to the main road but still quiet. Would go back

Two completely different experiences

I camped here for a night almost a year ago exactly (June 2021) & it became one of my favorite dispersed sites I’ve ever been at. I stayed there again a few nights ago (May 2022) & it was my worst experience camping. We got there at sunset to set up camp & as soon as the sun went down, we were I cared by these little beetles. I’ve never experienced anything like it. We were either in our car or the tent to avoid them. It made making dinner & relaxing literally impossible. As much as I loved my first visit here, those beetles ruined it for me & I will not be returning to this campsite.

Not busy

I was here when there was snow on the ground so it wasn't very busy. Doesn't look designated, but plenty of space to park in. Pretty close to the main road and town, so you're not too far away from everything.

Awesome lil loop

We got there late easy to find follow google already dispersed spots some small some large...fyi it's a loop. Looks as if they do fires, primitive though, someone riding with us had an episode demanding to return in town at 3 am so according to God s plan, we got stuck on a hill, high centered the truck and wound up all sleeping ing the truck morning time decided to venture out right as the land owners I would pressumed making rounds and help free us thank God... See with God's L.A.W. ( love always wins) we are more able to worry and fret not there is always someone coming.why? Because I assure he sees and knows all😜
