Lone Tree Dispersed Camping BLM

Lone Tree Dispersed Camping BLM, near Lake Havasu City, Arizona, offers a straightforward camping experience for those looking to escape into nature without the frills. This area is free to use and allows campfires, making it a popular choice for campers who appreciate a more rugged, back-to-basics vibe.

The location is spacious, with plenty of room for various types of campers, from tents to RVs. Visitors have noted that while it’s close to the highway, you can find quieter spots further back to minimize noise. Many campers have enjoyed the nearby hiking opportunities, including a trek up a rocky hill that provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

While amenities are limited—there's no drinking water, electric hookups, or trash services—campers have found the trade-off worth it for the freedom and natural beauty. As one reviewer mentioned, “No services, pack in, pack out,” which sums up the self-sufficient spirit of this spot. Cell service is generally good, making it easier to stay connected if needed.

Though some campers have pointed out that the area can get busy, especially on weekends with OHV traffic, the friendly atmosphere and the chance to enjoy the great outdoors make it a solid stop for a night or two. Whether you're passing through or looking for a place to unwind, Lone Tree offers a no-frills camping experience that many have come to appreciate.

Ugly gravel pit next to hwy

This spot is best for a quick layover and then move on. Just an old gravel pit,th no water, no toilets, no trash. Only a few miles north of the town and Walmart. There were a couple of broke down burned out vehicles that added to the ambiance. No cell in the lower pit but ok cell on upper level.

Good spot to stop and work

Great spot to stop for a work week. 15 to a planet fitness for showers and 10 minutes to Loves gas station for another shower option. The area is large and has plenty of room for all kinds of campers.

The area is right off the highway, but you can go far enough back to minimize any noise. There are plenty of level areas to park with fire rings. Not much privacy here. You can drive to the wash area for a bit more privacy. Lots of OHV during the day and people run their generators at all hours, but I didn't have any issue sleeping.

No services, pack in, pack out. Verizon service was good. There are a few areas to hike around here. Had a great hike to the top of the rocky hill near the back of the area. (If you want some areas that are less busy, there are 2 other BLM areas along the highway that don't get as busy).

So hot and rocky

It was just under 90°F at midnight and the ground was so rocky that sleeping was a challenge

Nice

Pros- large places to stop, 4 bars AT&T and Verizon. Close to town. Cons - although there is a sign clearing stating 14 day stay limit, there are many who are using this as a permanent camp. There is a man who has a motorcycle trailer for hi bike and a cargo trailer he is living in, and has been here for more than 30 days, and at least 10 others around the perimeter who have set up for a long haul and have made this area their home base. One guy in a Minnie Winnie has a lot blocked off with rocks preventing areas from being used and has been here for at least 30 days. Also, on the weekends there is a lot of 4 wheeler an side by side traffic (which is livable as they are polite). People don’t seem to even think that the BLM office could shut this area down, especially as they leave trash and waste behind them.

Free & close to town

It's free, it's close to town. It's also BLM so the are no rules as far as quiet time, generator use, etc. Our neighbors were living there and ran their generator every morning at 3am. Glass & nails abound and there are no services like water and garbage. OHVs speed thru during the day. But... it's free. We climbed the little hill and found a little registry book. Definitely will stay here again.

It’s free camping

It’s BLM land. So pack out what you pack in. Roads are rough but you can find some really nice places with a 4 x 4 regardless free camping not much else happening there but pretty views

Here are my star ratings based on my lifestyle and what I like. I'm also a mother, dog mama, and a wife so it's not just me it's my crew and i. 1 star- AUTOMATIC relocate… the property is no longer there, trashed or/and I could never have my children there and I wouldn't ever think about staying no matter what. 2 star- Not really my jam, and would NEVER go to again… It probably more of desert life and not really my style for sure…Being from Vegas I can't stand being in the desert and I love the Trees and the Green more than anything. 3 star- Would stay there again in a pinch, but not really my style, the reason its not is because not enough family things to do, the scenery, or the location… but I would go again and feel safe having my kiddos here but only if I needed to in a pinch. 4 star- a really good rating for sure, maybe needed some improvements, minor things like being on top of each other, not a lot of privacy, but honestly little cosmetic things that aren't anything to sweat and would be back again for sure. 5 star- MY FAVORITE… love the location, safety, the surroundings, big camp spots available to fit toys for my kids to play, hammocks to hang, our big family tent, cases of firewood, our suburban or RV, etcccccc….. I would not only come back but would live if I could!!! Anyway thanks for reading and enjoy every moment like it's your last! CHEERS!

Perfect stop when we travel to California from Arizona

Have stayed here a few times overnight and have always found it friendly, clean and mostly quiet. We stream TV with a verizon phone from the lower level with no problems. It's a great spot to fill up with fuel before crossing into California.

Beautiful Mountain Views

My brother and I camped here a couple nights. It was beautiful but very cold and windy. We were there the end of December 2020. I climbed the mountain at the north end of the campground and got some beautiful photos of the landscape.

I've been at this campground before in late January 2019 and it was cold and wind then too.  I was with friends and it was my first time visiting Lake Havasu. It is a crowded campground, good for a couple nights but not a place I'd stay longer term.

Good BLM site

Really good cell service with AT&T! I like that it is on an upper hillside. Clean, no trash, quiet & civil while I was here. I felt safe & comfortable. Easy to drive into coming from the south on 95. Low traffic noise. Nicely graveled. AND FREE!

Convenient stop when driving through the desert

I needed a stop to break down the drive from the California Central Cost to Northern Arizona and it did the trick. It's not an exceptionally exciting spot, but it's quiet. I pitched my tent on a little dip and I could barely hear the road (and it was much more protected from the wind). I regret not having brought a hammer with me and it was hard to get the fixations through. No signal on Mint/T-Mobile.
