## Overview

Rocky Point Park offers a campground and group day use picnic shelter use on the shore of 30,000-acre Wright Patman Lake within the piney woods of northeast Texas. This large facility offers campers a complete range of services and year-round outdoor activities like fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing. 

## Recreation

Rocky Point has hiking and walking trails for registered campers, including a 1.3-mile trail that connects with nearby Piney Point Campground. Children enjoy the facility's swimming beach, playground, volleyball court and amphitheater with educational programs.   
  
Boaters and anglers can take advantage of the accessible boat ramp. Bass, catfish, crappie and sunfish are found in the lake.

## Facilities

The campground has beautiful, mostly-shaded campsites, many which are on the waterfront. All 124 campsites consist of a hard surface parking pad, water and electric hookups, a picnic table, grill, and utility table. Dumpsters can be found at the exit of the park past the dump station for disposal of trash. Fifteen of the sites have sewer connections; forty-one sites have 50-amp electric service.   
  
Visitors who don't wish to stay overnight can reserve a group picnic shelter that can accommodate up to 60 people.

The park is situated in a mixed hardwood-pine forest next to Wright Patman Lake. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages approximately 55,000 acres of public forestland around the lake, providing habitat for wild turkey, bobwhite quail, squirrel, white-tailed deer, waterfowl and migrating bald eagles, pelicans and ducks. Some poisonous snakes inhabit the area.

## Overview

Clear Spring Park sits along the shore of 30,000-acre Wright Patman Lake within the piney woods of northeast Texas. The campground offers full services to campers. With a boat ramp, playground and swimming area, Clear Spring is sure to provide outdoor fun for families, boaters, anglers and hunters alike.

## Recreation

Wright Patman Lake hosts a wide range of recreational activities, including camping, swimming, boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Boaters flock to the lake and anglers try their luck for largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, sunfish and bass. The campground also offers hiking and nature trails.

## Facilities

With a swim beach, volleyball court, basketball court and playground, the facility is well-suited for families. Boaters and anglers have the convenience of a boat ramp with courtesy dock.   
Visitors have a variety of sites from which to choose, including 41 with 30 amp electric hook ups and sewer, 22 with 50 amp electric hook ups, 25 with 30 amp electric hook ups , 3 screened shelters for camping, 10 non-electric sites, a group camping area and a day-use group picnic shelter.   
The group campsite can accommodate up to 100 people and provides campers with a screened shelter, restrooms and showers, as well as 12 campsites with water and electricity.   
  
The three screened shelters all have water access and are close to the boat ramp. Each shelter has a ceiling fan, table, campfire ring, grill, covered porch and water. One shelter has a deck right above the waterfront.

## Overview

Cottonshed Park is located off the beaten path, eight miles southwest of Mineral Springs and Tollette. It is a quiet, wooded area with access to some of the best fishing on Millwood Lake.

## Recreation

The campground is located on Millwood Lake with direct access to the Saline River. The area is made navigable by boat lanes which mark the river and other man made paths through the lake. Outside of these channels is submerged timber and aquatic vegetation that entice anglers and duck hunters to the area. Millwood Lake is home to over 300 species of birds including the American Bald Eagle and Great White Pelicans, many of which can be found in the Cottonshed area.

## Facilities

The campground contains lake side campsites as well as those not located directly on the lake but with a lake view. Flush toilets, showers, and potable water are located throughout the campground. The facility also offers one centrally located sewage dump station. Campsites are equipped with picnic tables, grills, fire rings, 30/50 amp electricity, water hydrants and lantern poles.

## Natural Features

The campground is located directly on Millwood Lake with lake views from most of the campsites. The surrounding landscape is flat, low land areas with dense timber.

Lake Bob Sandlin State Park

Located about 120 miles southeast of McAlester, Beaver Bend State Park is an outdoor recreation mecca on the southern end of Broken Bow Lake. Named for the big bend on the Mountain Fork River, which runs through the park, Beavers Bend camping visitors can observe some of the area’s interesting rock formations—part of the Ouachita Mountains—that expose the area’s unique geologic origins. The main attraction at Beaver Bend however, is the extensive opportunities to play outdoors—from hiking, horseback riding and fishing to golfing, scuba diving and ziplining. Or, you don’t have to play at all. You can just kick back by the river and watch the clouds drift by. 

 Visitors to Beaver Bend have a variety of lodging and camping options to choose from, including rustic and modern cabins, tent and RV campgrounds, and the nearby Lakeview Lodge. For campers, there nearly 450 campsites, in eight different areas, available for parking an RV or pitching a tent. RV camps have water and electrical hookups, with showers and dump stations nearby. Services within the park include a nature center, restaurant, fly shop, kid’s day camps, boat rentals, craft classes, and campfire programs. Campsite rates range from $12–$25/night.

 Once you’re settled, spend your days on the river with a kayak or paddleboat, or just kick back and soak up some sun at the swim beach. If you’d rather cast a line or swing your clubs, go for one of the many fishing holes on the river, or head over to the nearby Cedar Creek Golf Course. Hikers will want to pack their boots to wander among Beaver Bend’s 12 miles of hiking trails, ranging from easy nature walks to challenging loop hikes. Stop by the Forest Heritage Center to learn more about the area, and pick up a trail map to help you navigate the shady pine and hardwood forest. If you’re visiting in the fall, don’t miss the Folk Festival & Craft Show, which features a variety of craft exhibits, music performances and tasty foods.

Piney Point Park is situated on the shore of 30,000-acre Wright Patman Lake within the piney woods of northeast Texas. This facility offers campers a complete range of services and year-round outdoor activities like fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing.

## Recreation

Piney Point has plenty of open space and shade in which children can play, as well as a volleyball court and a 1.3-mile hiking trail that leads to nearby Rocky Point Campground and its swimming beach.   
  
Other activities on the lake include boating, fishing, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Boaters can make use of the park's boat ramp, and anglers can try their luck for bass, catfish, crappie and sunfish.

## Facilities

The campground has comfortable accommodations with 45 campsites with water and electricity, as well as a group picnic shelter for day use only that can host up to 75 people. Campsites have picnic tables, grills, utility tables and trash cans. Restrooms, showers and a dump station are provided.
