Diamond in the rough

Our experience at this park was good. It was very hot but there was a covered picnic area which helped a lot. The spaces are spacious and parking was adequate. It was difficult to get to the water from our site but doable if you did not mind a little workout. The swimming area was great. They were…

Very clean quite camp

Great campground. Everyone was appropriately spaced out. We were able to see tons of deer and even a little fox one morning. There is swimming by the boat ramp but no beach, it is a rocky area but the kids and adult had so much fun. Water is beautiful. This is definitely my tip list local spot for…

Very peaceful and scenic! Our site 026 view faced the lake. Many deer came thru our camp each evening.

First day sad day

My first time there. I witnessed a young boy being pulled out by another young boy for drowning. Didn’t want my kids to see what was happening so I left. Would definitely camp there though.

Basic with no shade, but close to great sight seeing!

This campground has no shade but is close to Chalk Ridge Waterfall and other hikes. Beware, this short hike is still very rugged. The steps are covered in mudslides and there is zero signage to instruct people where to go.

  • At first the path is a nice, wide, semi-gravel path.
  • Suspension Bridge on the hiking trail.

Excellent Restful Campground

Live Oak Ridge COE Campground is excellently maintain and is a very low-key, restful place to land.  Large sites with ample vehicle parking that offer substantial distance from the neighboring sites give room to bring multiple vehicles or a boat along with the RV.  The sites are well maintained by…

A definite favorite COE

This may be our new favorite of the COE's we have experienced. It's location close to Georgetown, Texas and all it has to offer, the shaded shelter over the table and the spectacular views... It's another amazing week of perfect lakefront living. The Cedar Breaks Park COE campground sits on the…

Great stay

Enjoyed our stay at the park, good sites with shade, a grill, fire ring and covered shelter. Park hosts were great,  very friendly and helpful. Walking the dogs in the morning saw several grouping of deer, as people came out, they would run into the wooded areas, as soon as we passed, they would…

Beautiful, peaceful, close to Austin

This is a beautiful and huge camp ground with lots of nature to admire. The camp sites are spacious and feel very private, yet you don't feel alone with other campers nearby you. We had a stunning full hook up camp site with a climbable tree and took a hike to the waterfalls! There's lots of hiking…

Great biking!

This park is a great stop if you are on your way from Houston to Austin.  It's actually connected to Bastrop State Park by an 11 mile road that is mostly used for cycling.  And that's exactly what we did!  There was very little road traffic and the views were great!  There are also several scenic…
