Outstanding RV Park

Easy in and out of this area. Plenty of space to park your vehicle tow vehicle. Full hookups plenty of space in between sites good hard gravel for a pad and soft gravel for lounging. Aesthetics are well thought out with landscaping. The only thing lacking is a shower house bathroom.

Beautiful location just outside of big bend

Stunning location with full hook ups and the option to Boondock for a little bit less per night if you have the ability. The owner is very friendly and the park is very well-maintained.

Big Bend Access

We camped in their biondocking sites and it worked out very well for us. This is in the desert so it's wide open and was easy to maneuver our truck and camper around. This campground is pretty close to big bend national park and on the road to go to big bend ranch state park. The owners are nice and accommodating. We would stay here again.

So close to big bend!

We stayed here 5 nights and had a great time. Had a nice dog park that we took the dogs to every evening. Only 3 miles from big bend national park. On the expensive side at $55 but I think everything was expensive in this area.

Great Spot just outside of Big Bend

We stayed here in our CamperVan for 2 nights and ended up booking a third night. The park is all dirt and gravel and still being built but nowhere near a construction zone. Very comfortable and quiet with great views of the surrounding landscape. Live local music when we were there had us mesmerized staring up at the night sky taking everything in. Would recommend ! Great for RVs , scoolies or vans. Easy access . Oh and very good WiFi for being so remote and needing to work remotely !

Perfect place in the desert

A perfect place to stay and explore Big Bend, Terlingua or drive the River Road. Allison and her husband are perfect hosts and the most accommodating people we have run across. The sites were long and spacious and they are making improvements constantly. We will definitely be back.

Super dog friendly!

We are so glad we found this little RV gem! The owners were on site and were available and helpful the whole time. They have created a dog park area which turned out to be great for dogs and humans to make new friends. One evening we even had a sing along around a fire with a local cowboy and anyone who wanted to join! This will be our only place to stay in Terlingua area!

Scenic Hikes and Starry Nights

We loved this camp ground we had such a great time while we were in town. Spots were pretty level dirt and gravel. Everything was clean and open, easy pull through sites. The sunset and Bee Mountain were beautiful to look at. It was dark sky friendly so we pulled out our telescope and saw some beautiful stars. We wanted to extend our stay but they booked up quick. Easy drive to Big Bend National park and the Santa Elena canyon hike which is the most famous in Big Bend.

Be mindful of gas as it is a small town and only one gas stations.

Great place to camp with RV

This was the nicest RV campground we saw in the area. We stayed 2 nights while exploring Big Bend Nat’l Park. They had excellent, strong wifi throughout. We spent 1 night dry camping as they were full and 1 night with hook-ups. Both were excellent. Very neat, clean, sites reasonably spaced apart. Great view of mountain, open and spacious feeling. Host was very responsive and accommodating. Would easily recommend them. As they are new, they are in the process of adding services.

Great owners, an Aspirational park

The owners are very nice and the park has “good bones”- you can see the plan there. All sites are gravel, level, power & water, everything works great, lots of great landscaping and a social area. Big-rig friendly, near Big Bend, but no restrooms, showers or laundry facility, so I felt they were a bit overpriced. Maybe that’s the going rate in Terlingua… we didn’t make reservations much ahead of time.

Clean with staggered sites

I took one star off for its not really being a dark skies area.  Yes, you see a lot of stars, but a brightly lit liquor store and other light pollution limits the star viewing.  The campground also needs a taller sign with darker lettering.  Other than that, RoadRunner Travelers RV Park was a comfortable place to stay with full hookups.  Everything is rocks and gravel, but nicely graded.  Each site has a picnic table.  There were three dumpsters for trash.  With the sites staggered, depending on the size of the RV next to you,  you don't feel hemmed in by neighbors.  There was only one night where people outside played their  music loud enough to hear in my Scamp, even with the AC on, but they left the next day.

Great Stay during the February 2021 Snowpocalypse

We stayed at Road Runner RV Park in February of 2021 in the middle of the snowpocalypse that hit Texas in February of 2021. Allison and Chris, the owners, are great people that went around and checked to make sure that everyone had fresh water as the temps dipped into the single digits and they had to turn off the water lines. Chris and Allison went around in their truck with a fresh water container and a pump and filled every RV up. They even made sure to catch us as we got back from dinner at dusk that evening.

They just opened this park on Christmas Eve of 2020, and they were yet to get their wifi hookup, but you can tell they are vested in providing a great park and a great service. The RV park is ideally located in the Study Butte area with great access to Big Bend national Park, Terlingua Ghost Town, and Big Bend Ranch State Park. Entrances to each Park is within 10 minutes. They also have very convenient access to the Cottonwood Grocery, the Alon gas station, and Black Jack’s crossing.

This is definitely a destination area, and we intend to make it back. The sites are all gravel, as it is the Chihuahuan desert. So it will be a little dusty, but that is part of the natural beauty of the area. DB’s rustic barbecue is right across the road and Starlight theatre, and Terlingua ghost town is about 5 miles to the west.

Amazing, friendly service

This campground was clean, organised and conveniently located for our visit to Big Bend National Park. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Our site looked out onto a big red bluff. Although they are still working on some "amenities" like wi-fi, they have gone out of their way to make the new space as enjoyable as possible. Our kids enjoyed the "community area" where they had yard games and a fire pit.

Don't Hesitate to Stay Here!

We could not have been happier with our experience at Roadrunner Travelers RV Park. Chris and Allison went out of there way to make us feel at home and comfortable, especially since this was our very first destination with our trailer. Originally, we were going to have to move twice during our stay due to them not having one spot available for all 8 nights, but eventually it worked out so that we did not have to move at all. They had electric and sewer hook ups when we first got there, but with them being so new(just opened in December 2020), they were still working on the water hook ups, and ended up getting us hooked up to water about 3 days before leaving. Before the water hook ups were available, they drove around every single day and topped off everyone's fresh water tanks. That's customer service for you! They are working on getting fiber optics in the campground, and should have it very soon. If you need a good internet service while there, just ask them and they will tell you where and how to get it very easily and very close by. The grounds are gravel and each site is mostly level from what I could tell. We were 15 minutes from Big Bend Ranch State Park, 10 minutes from teh entrance to Big Bend NP, and 5 minutes from Terlingua Ghost Town. Perfect location for the area. Do not hesitate to stay here! Thank you again Chris and Allison for your hospitality, answering all our questions, and giving us some great local info on things around town. Cheers and good luck!

Wide Open Spaces

New facility right around the corner from the entrance to Big Bend National Park.  We signed the water tower, as per a tradition at this brand new campground. We thanked our awesome hosts Chris, Allison, and Robin for a GREAT stay, some of the friendliest folks you'll ever want to run in to. Wide open skies at night with very limited lighting so that you can watch the heavens with each passing minute!

Best hospitality

Hosts are amazing, friendly and helpful people. Awesome experience staying here. We moved from Big Bend Ranch State Park to Road Runners to be closer to National Park. This was perfect location for our day excursions, even over to the east end (Rio Grande Village area) of the national park was no problem.

Great New RV Park in Terlingua

This is the very first time we have stayed at this RV Park...well this week was EVERYONE’S first time staying at this RV park. It just had it’s soft” opening the week of Christmas. So although it is new and still working on completion of all their facilities(only sewer and electric currently available) the owners went out of their way with ensuring they did daily water deliveries to All campers. Mind blowing since when booking we knew that the water was not yet ready to go so fully expected to have to run out occasionally to fill up. That service alone makes me give it 5 stars but there is so much more that these owners do to make sure your stay is enjoyable. They answer all your questions about the local area, advise you of any weather that is concerning, provide great restaurant recommendations and encourage all the park guests to come together every evening around the community campfire to talk about their Days adventure, or your travel journeys. This was my favorite part(safe outdoor social distancing, of course). They have plans to have a bath house, dog park, and community area with games. I can not wait to return next year just to see how they progress. My gut tells me that this will be the“Oasis” destination in the desert. Thank you Chris and Allison for the wonderful memories of our first trip to Terlingua!
