Away from everything

It is an easy thirty or forty minutes to a gas station so fill up when you see the Circle K and Chevron next to each other if coming from Yuma.  If coming from the north Quartzsite is probably your last chance for gas.  It is in the middle of nothing and nowhere, a little oasis with little to no…

Right on the River

A lovely county campground and picnic area on the Colorado. Dry sites are closest to the water. Super clear restrooms and showers. Dry sites have picnic tables, BBQ grills, but no fire pit. Lots of green grass. Large open grassy area with day picnic sites. RV sites are separated from dry sites.…

One night stand

We arrived late and the check in was easy. The site layout was a little confusing at night. Tight spots. We left early so we didn't use any amenities. Place looks clean.

Weekend Getaway Boondocking

I met up with an old Marine buddy of mine and my 15 year old son for some camping, fishing and offroading with my friends Polaris Razr. There is a nice boat dock that is well used. NOTE: The walking dock to get into your boat is not setup and is not functional. Fishing spots are around the…

Hospitality on the river

Walter's Camp is a great launch point up the Colorado River. I don't own a boat but if I did this would be a regular spot. The drive in is a couple miles on dirt road. Take it slow if you have to but chances are you can get there just fine! You may get some excitement from other guests enjoying the…

Beautiful and remote

Once you leave I-8 it’s about 35-55 minutes back to major services. I hear Fischer’s Landing has a new convenience store. The office has beer, soft drinks and a few choices of hard stuff. The RV pads are cement and level. Our rig is 24 feet and we fit very well on the pad. This is a military…

Beautiful desert spaces

We enjoyed our 3 day stay here, but had a big dusty mess to clean up afterwards. Fishing revealed catfish and bass at the waters edge. A watercraft would be ideal; no swimming allowed. We parked on the lake near the road when gravel trucks worked weekdays. They did a good job of wetting down the…

Quiet and basic.

I stayed off of King Rd. which was accessible using a regular. I would take a truck if I did it again. Not a bad place to camp out at if you're heading to Yuma. It was free. No bathrooms and no water. Had a fire because it gets cold in February. There were many RV's in the area with plenty of room.…

Glorified Parking Lot

Like so many other campground “resorts” in Yuma they pack you in pretty tight and slap a palm tree between you and your neighbor and call it a day, LOL. Facilities seem worn down and office staff lukewarm. But it’s convenient to a lot of needed services and stores so I’ll be here a few weeks.

Beautiful Place and Lots of Cactus

We attended a camper rally Feb 10-14, 2021 and this also happened to be the first time we took our new rig out on the road. The drive to the spot from the 10 was easy and the camping spots (pull out areas) are nice and flat. It was quiet and the stars were clear and beautiful. During the day, there…

Very Large14 day limit BLM

This is one five of 14 Day LVTA camping areas in the Quartzsite vicinity.

It was a very large site that had entrances on both sides of the road that each had their own host. Lots of flat open spaces. It is managed by the Bureau of Land Management(BLM). BLM lands have special rules, fees(…

Nice area, but to many campers for me.

This is a very nice long term (14 day) campsite, very close to the highway noise, and I prefer some place less crowded and quieter. Very easy access to and from the freeway. I would definitely consider this place for a stopover when traveling through and needing a rest.
