    Hard Rain Cafe & RV Park

    Clean, safe campground and Country Store Cafe next door to Hoh Rainforest

    Review based on September 2025 Car Camping and breakfast experience: The Hard Rain Cafe and Campground is an excellent spot to camp if you want close proximity to the Hoh Rainforest’s National Park entrance. The campground is clean and affordable. It has two beautiful bathrooms in a standalone structure, with electricity, hot water, good shower pressure, flush toilets, and screened windows. It is on the access road to the park entrance, allowing easy first access. The camping spots are set up for tents, cars, and RVs, and are big enough to provide privacy for each. I was looking for a place that felt safe and had running hot water and flush toilets, a lot to ask for when camping, and this place filled every need. Plus, the owner and family are very welcoming and accommodating while still respecting your privacy. The Café offers made to order delicious food and beverages, and a variety of items in the Country Store section. There is a welcoming porch to relax and enjoy your food. I have been meaning to write this review, as I highly recommend the Hard Rain Cafe for camping and as a food& beverage spot. Check them out. Support this local business. You will be incredibly pleased you did!!

    Large Pull Out (Dispersed) on FR 24

    It'll do

    Large pull off, could easily fit 3-4 vehicles. Nothing fancy as it is just a pull off on the side of the road. One camper van here while I was and had no problem with them. Lots of people that just leave their trash here though and that's disappointing.

    Minnie Peterson Campground

    Close to Hoh

    Like other said, not meant for winter camping. Campsite was muddy and was drizzling on and off but if you can manage that, you’ll be fine. Nobody else was at the site that night so I had the entire campground to myself. Barely any road noise besides in the morning from folks headed into Hoh. If you got a discover pass, you can camp for free.

    Boulder Creek Trail Dispersed

    Quiet, beautiful forest pull-offs

    There are some pull-offs on the side of the gravel road on the way to hiking trails and a campground. Road is not well-maintained (quite a few potholes and forest debris) and is very narrow but other than that, it's a good spot to pull over for the night and only an hour outside of North Cascades NP.

    Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Dispersed Camping on Derby Rd NF7400

    Quiet in late April

    Rolled in at dusk, saw no other vehicles. Had a very quiet night at junction of Derby Rd & NF7400 Rd. Just round us 50 yds is a somewhat flat open area in W side of road with LOTS of spent shotgun shells and some garbage. Saw no animals, but definite game trails.

    Cowlitz River Blue Creek Boat Ramp

    Wide open space, but weirdos at night

    Plenty of spaces to park on and off pavement. Right next to the water if that's your thing. There was a bathroom in the parking lot but I never went to see if it was clean or even unlocked but I doubt it gets cleaned often. After sunset there were people coming in and out of the lot until late at night, doing weird stuff in the woods and shining lights in people's cars. Signs say no tent camping yet there were semi-permanent looking tents in the grass with trash strewn about. Siren went off at the fish hatchery up the road early in the morning and woke me up. Overall it's a decent place to stop overnight off I-5 but don't count on getting a good night's sleep

    Avery Rec Area- Columbia River Gorge

    Lovely lil spot!

    The park is FREE up to 7 days and a wonderful choice imo. There is a pit toilet available (well maintained), picnic tables, a boat launch with FREE life jackets to borrow, beautiful scenery with a nearby winery (not overly priced), and you're right on the river. There are nearby train tracks and so there are numerous trains (we happened to enjoy the sounds of the trains) but if you're noise sensitive do be advised. The park staff are kind and keep the park beautiful, thanks so much to them. I give this spot a 4/5.

    Toutle River RV Resort

    Between freeway and train

    Well it’s not bad, the store is very under stocked. Staff is nice. We have been here just over 24hrs and have had 36 trains go by, our site is less than 20 yards from the tracks, which are not showed when you book online. The fact that the sites aren’t clearly identified with pavement and are nearly all overgrown gravel it’s a bit disappointing and no fire pits/rings. Majority of campers are long term residents and spread throughout the park rather than in a section or a single area. Our picnic table is crumbling and unusable. Ok in a pinch but we will not return.
