I like this park because it's close to home. It's got a good space between sites and is broken into 3 or 4 areas so you're not just piled in like sardines. You can being 4-wheeled vehicles that have a steering wheel. No sewer hookups, but there is a dump station. Unfortunately, subsequent major…

The correct access point is from the SouthEast, via the town of Marquez. From the four way stop in Marquez, head North about a quarter mile and then make a left on 1146 just before…
It was very beautiful and we enjoyed our stay but the Rv campsites were very close together so if you’re looking for a separated from everyone else kind of campsite this isn’t the one for you. We also discovered that the cellphone signal for Verizon wasn’t that great when the Rv next to us came. It…
Camp sites are spaced out nicely, the lake is beautiful. The campsites are clean. The restrooms are not clean
I'm surprised no one else has reviewed this place yet, it is awesome! Other than the occasional local on their boats making noise, this place was pretty serene. The drive to the location is very rural once you exit 45. Many nice folks in the community here were waving at me when I drove by.
Be sure to test the water before entering. It's seems harmess and may very well be harmless but it will make you and your pets stinky. Easy access to low current knee high water below the damage and easy and fun to walk/ wade around in but again, will lightly stain your clothes and have you…
Full hookups good concrete pads very well taken care of and an absolute joy to stay at. We will be returning in the near future.
awesome view of the river. people don't clean up when they leave but easier for me to start a little campfire. love the sounds of the river. perfect little off grid place for me to get away from the city on a weekend. I use to come with family all the time as a kid.
We had called and made reservations and as we confirmed asked if a 40ft class A could fit. Well we got there and 1st of all it is so badly run down. Also the spot he wanted us to pull into was on grass and way too small. He said oh you can fit between those 2 trees. Omg I said absolutely not, you…
My son and I went in mid-November, so your experience will vary depending on time of year.
The LSHT is the longest hiking trail in the state. It is broken up into sections. We started at Section 1, which is the easternmost portion, hiking east-west. Each section has a trailhead with a parking lot.…
We camped at spot 1, right up from the lake. Very spacious spot to fit three tents. Dog friendly. Very quiet, everyone courteous. Two great fishing spots: down on the lake by the campsite and by the marina (both super close to the campsite).
This park has so much potential to be a family friendly place to fish and swim but sadly I would not want to stay here. My grandmother lives in Perry, TX which is just about 10 miles from this park. I drove down to view it and see if it would be a good place to set up a campsite with my son and…

We were are spot T2, along with another group at T10 (only ones camping out there)! The spots are somewhat close together. It’s an all-around great camping spot. Has ample sites to camp either in tents or RVs, with both electricity and water hook ups. Really quiet, everyone is respectful of the…
