State Park review

Lake Brownwood area is full of trees, nice lake for boating, fishing and jet skis. The state park sits on a pretty cove of the lake. Sites 50,51 offer privacy and are close the bathroom/showers....not too close. You can see the water, but aren’t lakefront. Typical state park amenities. Sites have…

Nice Quiet Campground

Green grass, well spaced concrete pads, and large pecan trees right along the San Saba river. There are full hookups and cable tv. The office is confusing and is down at the golf course office. (Avoid parking in the spaces up against the river and under the pecan trees. A couple of large branches…

Along the River

We camped here 1/31/21 to 2/5/21. Sites were good sized and shaded which was a slight issue for our solar panel but there are other sites without shade. About 200 yards to the little store/office where you can get some WIFI and water is also there. No power or water at sites. We loved the trails…

Campground in Nature with all the benefits of Full Hookups

If your ideal is to be surrounded by nature, but also want all the amenities that an RV with full hookups can afford, than this should be on your list. Well spaced campgrounds in the Hill Country oaks, walking paths through to woods to the lake, it really has it all. Very quiet and a place to get…

Nice State Park, But Lacking Amenities by B

My first camping trip in TX, my mistake in going in Hot August. There are no hookups and generators are not allowed. I have an Aliner trailer, and no shade over most of the sites. There is good hiking and you can get to the Colorado river. Pretty long hike (I rode my MTN bike and it was a 45 min…

Great Park

Between the swimming hole and Gorman Falls you have some great views and amazing hiking! Saw some deer and hogs while out hiking on this property. Armadillo are all over the place as well.. Do be aware the cell service is pretty much nonexistent down at the campsites. There was a general store…

Storage business with permanent residents

Basically full hookup parking lot within a storage facility. Rented space and realized that had to have code for bathroom after hours, so couldn’t use. Staff only there to take money, no other help at all.

Amazing price and friendly!

So reasonably priced and owners go out of their way to help, from booking to advice and suggestions on area attractions.

Nice Little Stop

We booked this in route to Austin for an overnight stay. It’s a nice little park. You pull in to the sites right off the road. It’s easily accessible and easy to leave. The bathrooms were clear. It’s next to a nice city park.

Lovely land along the Colorado River

While the RV sites are a bit plain, with minimal trees, a small fire ring and basic picnic table, the area that you are in is very beautiful. It's a short walk over to the Colorado River, and you can walk the dirt roads of the land to explore much more of the property. Colorado Bend State Park is a…

Epic beach camping

Wow, such an amazing camping experience! We boondocked with our 36ft motorhome right on the beach.

$12 to get in and stay as much as you’d like. Busy on weekends but very quiet during the week.

They allow driving on the beach here from access #5 and north of it. Watch the tides, best to get in…

Great Family Spot

This is an amazing spot for a family trip. We stayed in February 2021 for 6 nights in site 13 on the RV Loop. Access to the lake from the site (short walk), wooded area that blocks the wind but you get sun during the day. It was completely full on the weekend days (in February) but almost empty…

Great Spot

10 acres in the Texas hill country. Located minutes from Burnet and Lampasas. Highly wooded and secluded with great hill country views. If you are up for a relaxing getaway and getting back in touch with mother nature, this is the spot.

Gorgeous CCC Cabins & Nice Campground

The remarkable area of this park lies not in it's campground loop. The loop is pretty, lovely even, and it looks like a lot of other campgrounds on a beautiful lake. But take a walk along the lakeshore trail and see the cabins, dance hall, and steps constructed by the CCC and you'll be transported…

  • Rainy morning at the lake.
  • Lots of spots available in January mid-week.
  • Wish the weather had been better, but this place is probably an oasis in the summertime!
