Right Off The Interstate

We stayed here because it was extremely convenient to the Ford Arena, where our grandchild was playing softball. The sites are very close together in the side we were staying at. More like a big parking lot. It had rained and it was rather flooded! The small areas of grass were unkempt. With all…

Nice & Quiet

Tent camper, site #30. Deep into the piney woods and swampy outcrops of B.A. Steinhagen lake, I camped under the shade of a huge magnolia tree alongside very tall pines and oaks. Alligators are present all day and night near the water. They aren’t a nuisance. Good utility hookups, nice covered…

Stormy Night in a Historical Park!

Arrived here just before a big thunderstorm rolled in.

But it was super cool to watch as the lights of Houston illuminated the sky across the bay.

Can camp for up to 3 nights maximum with $10 permit from the courthouse down the street.

No utilities, but large open camping area near fishing…

Beautiful find

What a pleasant surprise. This hidden gem is gorgeous. Camped in site 102 along the water. Neat, clean, well-maintained. Staff were very helpful. Wish I could stay longer.

Beautiful Park

Beautiful park. We brought kayaks and had a great time amongst the trees. Even saw some small gators!

Nice Park

Easy access from the interstate but not noisy. Just stayed one night on our way home from San Antonio so really didn’t use any of the facilities but sites are nice and level and the place is clean. Had dinner at Tia Juanita's Fish Camp and would highly recommend it if staying in Beaumont.

Great sites and fishing!

This park is operated by COE and the host were so helpful and friendly. Sites are very spacious. The one we had was right by the water so we only had to walk a few steps to fish. We stayed for 12 days. I got to see a air boat right behind our camper. It was awesome. Loved this place and fishing was…

Ok it's August it Texas so it was hot and the mosquitos were in full force. We knew that was. coming so we were prepared. The fishing was great and this State Park is one of those hidden gems. There was no crowd, it was like we had the whole place to ourselves. the deer walked by every night and…

Quiet and peaceful

This campsite was amazing. Right off the river making the sunsets beautiful. We went in March and the temperature was perfect. Low to mid 70s in the afternoon and lower 50s at night. The trails are beautiful and there are tons of activities. It’s a beautiful Forrest park.
