South Central Texas is a prime area of the state to explore. Known far and wide as the Hill Country, it is so named for its rolling hills and woodlands. Famous for its excellent wineries, historic small towns and natural beauty, the Hill Country also boasts a unique offering for campers known as Enchanted Rock State Park. 


Enchanted Rock is a large pink granite dome that rises 425 feet above the surrounding terrain and is the largest granite monadock in the United States. Indians, Spaniards and early settlers all had stories of magical, spiritual or unexplained happenings around the rock which gave the feature its name. These days, one of the most intriguing sights is at night, after a rain. The wet dome seems to glitter in the moonlight and while regarded as a simple play of light on the granite, the effect adds to both the mystery and enchantment of the area. 


Another intriguing site in the Hill Country is Jacob’s Well, a short 78 miles southeast from Enchanted Rock State Park. Fed by a natural artesian spring, Jacob’s Well consists of a large pool connected to a vast underground cavern system that sprawls more than 4300 feet. The spring is connected to the Trinity Aquifer and emits thousands of gallons of water each day where visitors can enjoy the cool 68 degree water. Jacob’s Well is a popular and welcome retreat from the famous Texas heat!

The Gated Resort today, supports an ongoing adult only community of residents, both full time and RV travelers. During April through September, holds unique opportunities as a family destination. In close proximity to Mexico cultural and entertainment destinations. Bluebonnet is a family environment, just a short distance from South Padre Island, one of the Texas Gulf Coast year-round beaches with the best winter climate.

 While the Rio Grande Valley provides many leisure time opportunities, Bluebonnet holds its own charm with an indoor pool and newly refurbished and updated Game Room/Lounge. New to the Resort is a Pet Bath House and Dog Park with agility course for our four legged friends. Meticulously maintained grounds that support old world fountain gathering centers along with; a newly constructed butterfly garden. Butterflies are natural to the Valley which is home to the National Butterfly 
 Center. After hours activities include wine tasting events in the newly constructed pagoda with a soon outdoor kitchen, fire pit and entertainment area.

 The resort maintains regulation shuffleboard courts, a remodeled State of the Art fitness room, measured fitness trail within the resort boundaries, horseshoe pits, a stage, professional sound system and a complete kitchen contained in both recreation halls. 

 As with any state-of-the-art facility, Bluebonnet is ADA Compliant and is completely accessible.
 Pricing includes up to 2 people per site. $2.00 per night for extra guests. Two week maximum for additional guests.



Bluebonnet RV Resort

We are a small community with 80+ RV spots and some mobile homes. We have a laundry room, restrooms with showers, full hookups in our back-in spots, mail service available, full kitchen and more in our clubhouse. The park has Wi-Fi in the clubhouse to be used by all. Various outdoor games, a community firepit and more are available for use by all in the park. We are close to shopping, Santa Ana Reserve, a ton of flea markets, less than an hour to South Padre Island and a Mexico Border Crossing and lets be honest there is always something to see or do in the Rio Grande Valley. Come visit us for a short time or become one of our regulars!

During your stay, you can visit Port Mansfield (man’s best kept secret for fishing!!) as well as La Sal Del Rey, a lake that sits atop four million tons of salt, ten times saltier than the ocean!! This location is an hour away from South Padre Island and SpaceX. J.P. Rustic Ranch is only 15 mins from town. Nearby stores include: HEB, Dollar Store, Subway, Tractor Supplies Co, and CVS.
