Easy Resting Place

I normally like to camp at Palo Duro Canyon on my way west to CO or Utah. The camping spots were all reserved on this trip though. I found Thompson Grove picnic area through this site, and didn't know what to expect. It ended up being an easy place to eat and car camp for the night. I wouldn't…

Great FREE overnight stop

Thank you Dumas, Texas for the fine overnight RV parking. Did I say free?!? Electric hookups, place to fill with water and dump, and easy access. Dog park. This was a great place to spend an evening while traveling .

This'll work for a night

This is a surprising campground. The roads in were pretty rough, marginally maintained. The campground is a real place with picnic tables, grills and a vault toilet. It's kinda cute.

We rock a 32' 5er. I could not turnaround in the parking lot. I backed out to the "main" road, then back into the…

Flat, clean, quiet,

Pit toilets, flat section to set up tents. Not much privacy as there is only 1 area to set up in but there are several picnic tables and fire pits spaced out throughout. There are garbage and recycling cans.

Middle of nowhere

Great, quiet little place. Clean bathrooms. In a grove of trees in the middle of open fields. Places for tents. We're able to camp with our 30' TT. Lot was big enough to turn it around. Had to use our generator all night due to battery issues. Sorry to the tent campers at the other end of the park…

Still the best value

Yes, this is just a parking lot with electric hook-ups. There is also water available (not at sites) and a dump station, and a playground. We have always met friendly fellow travelers here. It is better to get here in early afternoon to get a better site. It can get very crowded when full, almost…

Good stay for 1 night

Only stayed for a night but it was a good stay. Super clean vault toilets and trash bins. There’s about 6-7 tent spots with picnic tables and fire rings. I have a camper van and stayed in the parking lot. No pull in spots for RVs or trailers but the lot can accommodate them. Pretty remote so very…

Clean quiet overnight spot

Great campsite for someone passing through. Arrived close to 1am easily parked with our RTT. Area is mowed and are the bathrooms clean. Nice quiet area worth the 15 min off the main road to get to. We walked our dog in the morning and found a campsite down a mowed path at the end past the metal…

Great FREE overnight RV camping with electric!

This is a city park just outside of the center of town and highway. Its really a gravel parking lot with around 20 spots to park with electric hookups (20, 30, and 50 amp) that allows FREE camping for 24 hours. There is a dumpster, dump station, and potable water fill up. Bathrooms but no showers…

Probably wouldn’t return

There was this truck that kept speeding back and forth by the site. When i fell asleep they came near my vehicle and when i woke up to check things out they sped off. I wasn’t sure what they were up to but felt uncomfortable and therefore left. Great view of the stars though.

Good, free site.

Not much to see here, but the bathroom was clean and the site is well kept. Stayed one night, beautiful stars, heard plenty of coyotes. I saw a few roadrunners and some other small wildlife in the morning.

Lovely, quiet oasis

Cute little picnic and camp area. Clean bathrooms (with TP) and empty trash cans. Free up to 14 days. We stayed one night with very little daylight camping but overnight was wonderful, quiet and perhaps without clouds would be a nice stargazing location. Also had great little picnic setups with…

Absolutely beautiful little oasis with nice picnic tables. Dispersed camping with a vault toilet. A good stop for the night.

Great place to camp on a road trip

This place is peaceful and quiet. It’s free. It has pit toilets, trash bins, grills, fire rings and Picknick tables. A sign says you can stay for 14 days like other national land.

We stopped here on our way back from Colorado to central Texas and it was perfect.
