Small, quiet and dispersed

Limited sites. Must call District office for permit, but still free. Vaulted toilets. There is a swimming hole in the small creek that’s great! Kids loved it! Also the river is just down on 555 with a kayak launch. An elk viewing plot is just across from the kayak launch site/ parking lot. Not far…

  • Entrance to the right. I believe this is site 5 with tents to the left and parking for tents.

Peace for Mind, Body & Soul

We were at the Lower Campgrounds. It was perfect. It was so quiet and peaceful, did not even notice other campers around. (I can’t speak for the Daggett Run side though). Bathhouse was very clean. Had a good time fishing at the lake and stopping for ice cream at the beach shop is a must!

Beautiful and not too busy

Beautiful and surrounded by gorgeous PA, and close to the town of wellsborough. It's a short 10-20 minute drive to the nearby towns with the amenities you may need, and with cute tourist stops! There where various trails, the PA Grand Caynon, and waterfalls/water stops to enjoy.

Close to rails to trails, quiet and peaceful

We go here every year. Electric hook up, and very nice tent sites along creek. Does get crowded on nice weekends but mostly families. A short drive down to pine creek rails to trails. Beautiful ride through creek canyon. Nice little store at entrance, and several hikes from park.

Stars galore

I went with 2 of my best friends and the stars were magnificent! Saw multiple shooting stars as well! The campsites are a little too open and close for my liking but the area in general is beautiful! So many hiking trails as well with hills and water!

Private. Quiet. River

Cathy was great. Totally laid back, super helpful. The grounds were well kept. We had a full hookup site. Exceeded expectations.

Beautiful but disappointed

We had high hopes for this campground. It is in the beautiful PA mountains and not far from Elk Visitor Center. We got Site 021 in the lower loop. There is a shower house but we didn’t use it, so can speak to how it was. The site we had was beautiful it backed up to the creek and was right next to…

Beautiful

Quiet campground. Some are open areas backed up to woods. All have fire pits and picnick tables (some were brand new).
Flat grassy areas for your tent. Hiking trail along the stream. Saw a Bald Eagle on day 1. Unfortunately there was no fire wood for sale as were there prior to April 1st when…

small, quiet and friendly

Our trip to Canyon Country Campground was fantastic!  The owners were very friendly and helpful.  Our site was well laid out.  The campground was neat, clean and quiet.  The owners were extremely helpful concerning the Pa. Grand Canyon, where to go, the trails, etc.  It is a 5 hour drive for us but…

Beautiful state park

Wandering around the gorge is so beautiful and relaxing the views and sights inside the park are amazing, it's almost like another world at times. Sites were nice, the area we were in was a little too open for our liking, but in a park with this kind of scenery it was fine because we didn't spend a…
