Nice local park

Duman lake review notes.

  • Well-maintained small park, stocked lake, popular with local fisherman. Kayaking/small boat fishing. I’ve seen bald eagle and osprey.
  • Six campsites, w/mature trees, level, w/paved drive & gravel area, large enough for mid-sized RVs. They state 40 ft., but all are…

Beautiful

Very clean and helpful camp. Too bad the fishing isn’t the best at yellow creek national park.

Nice & quiet, close to elk.

Nice PA state park campground and close enough to Benezette (elk) with a short (30 minutes) car ride.

Lots of good hiking. The lake’s nice. Facilities are modern and clean.

Cell service is spotty.

Sitenon-electric.

Beautiful but disappointed

We had high hopes for this campground. It is in the beautiful PA mountains and not far from Elk Visitor Center. We got Site 021 in the lower loop. There is a shower house but we didn’t use it, so can speak to how it was. The site we had was beautiful it backed up to the creek and was right next to…

Halloween party

I went here for the first time with 3 other family members for the last camping outing of the year. We went during their trick or treat weekend, it was very entertaining and enjoyable. Almost every campsite was decorated for Halloween and there was plenty of Trick or treaters. If you are into…

Allegheny front trail

The volunteers that maintain this loop trail do an excellent job. Views are gorgeous, you never fear for water and there are plenty of established camp sites with fire rings. My first "thru hike" and I will definitely go back for seconds.

What a great place...

Great camping area stop a mountain...nice unique lake that is incredibly dark in color. Lilly pads abound with great flowers

Unbelievable views

This is by far my favorite campground I’ve been to yet. The view of the river was unbeatable and the hike up the mountain way beyond worth it. I already can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful State Park

Grew up going here. Day trips or weekend getaways-it was always a nice time. Love hopping the rocks at the spillway, hiking, looking for crayfish, and swimming in the dam. They have pavilions to have picnics, every lot that we pitched a tent was always nice. Rent paddle boats or canoes. Always a…

Prince Gallitzin SP

A huge park and packed to the brim with campers. Even on a Sunday evening. Parkee told me that normal summer get about 90 to 95% capacity, but with Covid they are surpassing that even during the week. Lucky to get a spot.

Fairly level, shaded sites, ours with electricity. ATT & Verizon signal…

Parker Dam State Park

Real nice park that can get pretty busy on weekends. We arrived on a Thursday and, in advance, reserved one of the few remaining sites. Never used their facilities, but they looked nice. Electric only at our site. Both ATT & Verizon signals weren't bad. Wouldn't try to watch a movie or stream…

Plenty of do for everyone

This is probably one of my favorite campgrounds in PA and we like to stay right along the wooded area by beach and playground.

This gives the kids access to water, playground, and a quick trip up to the camp store for ice cream.  We've also rented a pontoon boat for the day from the marina…

Depends what you’re looking for!

This campground was our least favorite of the many we’ve been to this summer, in large part because there were so many people! We stayed in 103 RedOak loop because we had our dogs. The site itself was fine, and there were no hook ups - which we knew- in that section. The mix of tents and smaller…

Choice PA Wilds camping

Like most PA State Park campgrounds, prime sites cater to RVs, including all of the creekside lower campground. Which isn't to say tent and hammock campers don't have some nice options in the upper campground — including site 50, which is secluded and spacious enough for 2-3 tents — but if you want…

Big adventure with Elk & Timber rattlers

Small campground just inside of the PA Wilds. Quiet low tea office campground. Sites are all paved and many overlapping with fire rings right on the line between sites. Research your site before reserving. Clean and modern shower house. Swimming and fishing a short walk from the grounds. Scenic…
