Clean, well spaced camping

Central State Park is a clean, well maintained campground. We arrived late, so we had to self check-in. The spots are well spaced, giving campers a nice amount of privacy. There are full, partial and primitive spots available. All are nicely wooded and have public bathrooms nearby. All-in-all, a…

Lake Eufaula State Park

Stayed for a couple nights beginning of June on our travels east. Good amount of space between camp sites. We were here Tuesday through Thursday and we had the place almost to our self. Water, electric and sewer were in fine shape. Bathroom was a bit dated but clean. Ate at Witt’s BBQ down the…

Nice friendly park

Stayed here 2 nights this May. The location is good for access to Oklahoma City attractions. It is right off the interstate so the usual highway noise but not terrible. Free coffee and muffins every morning. Bathouses were very clean and well kept. Didnt look at them but there are Buffalo there in…

Great campground

We’ve stayed there twice. Clean and relatively quiet depending on amount of campsites filled. Nice pool.

Okay camp at okay small lake

Just a handful of primitive spots. All seem level and all back up to the lake. There are some trees, but not much shade because they aren’t tall.

Each site has a table, fire ring and its own trash can.

Looks like you can beach your boat at your site. The water level was low when we were there…

Depends what you are looking for

Looking for a nature centric camping experience? This isn’t your place.

Need a place convenient to the Lazy E Arena, Guthrie or Edmond to base out of of? This could be your spot.

Need an easy on/off overnight spot in central Oklahoma? This could work for that, too.

Not scenic, but clean, level…

Best Oklahoma day-trip

Roman nose has all the amenities you could ask for: cabins, swimming pool, general store, paddle boats, mini golf, picnic spots, fishing, interesting trails, etc etc. but nothing and I mean NOTHING beats the cold and clear fresh water springs on the hot +100 degree days we get!

I recommend…

Past it’s Prime

Older park adjacent to an amusement park. In serious need of updating & clean up. We stopped here for one night in route to Texas, for which it served the purpose. Staff very pleasant. Pluses include water/sewer at each site, decent tv reception. Includes wifi but so slow basically unusable.…

A Good Way to Get Lost

Just to let you know, the map on this page shows this campground to be about 30 to 50 miles west of Oklahoma City, and just off of I-40. In reality, this lake is about 150 miles east of OKC, and just south of I-40.

Great Place, Great People

We stayed the week of Thanksgiving to visit friends. This park is an awesome place to stop. They have a decent indoor pool, buffalo in an enclosure, and laundry facilities. They have a church service on Sundays, and they bake muffins each morning that are free for guests. My youngest did not miss a…

Beautiful campsite

I was practically surrounded by water. Deer, beavers, armadillo, birds! There are many different campground areas, I stayed in Pine Grove. Bathrooms were old but not too dirty. They were heated very well. Several dump stations. Friendly staff.

Great stop

Rockwell RV park was a nice, quiet, and clean stop for us along our route home. The kids loved the 7 baby Buffalo on the property. Linda had wonderful customer service and accommodated our COVID request for phone check-in and payment.

Oasis in the Plains

Roman Nose is a popular State Park with many activities to keep you entertained & beautiful scenery. We stayed at RV Site #39 at Two Lakes & enjoyed our stay. It was a clean site with full hookups, picnic table, fire pit and spaced well from the other sites. Traffic was heavy because of the…
