Typical state park. Was good for the value but will say the staff at the main office were very helpful! They saw to it that curfew was enforced!!!! COVID was is in place and staff saw to it that the state stds. were followed.
We ended up about halfway down on campsite 1 not to many great places to get with an overlanding rig the way they have it set up, but it’s pretty, there is a few trails that lead down to the river you can get a line in if your careful, not really any good swimming holes by where we’re at but it is…

This lake has came a long ways from how it use to be. It is a pretty good lake now, the front camp grounds are really nice and the others on the north side of the lake are definitely better than the ones on the south side but they are still nice. It is a more natural lake and fees are not terrible.…

This is our "go to" campground, if we are just going for a weekend we will drive to Lake Thunderbird. We normally stay at Little Axe on the Outer loop next to the water if we can. This trip was on the inner loop, $33 a night for electricity and water. Site 30 is really close to other campers,…
The camping is primitive and we had access to a small natural pool area near falls. However, the rains messed up our tent and the bathrooms didn’t work.

I really enjoyed this park. Very accessible on a motorcycle. Nice campground area suitable for tents. Plenty of picnic tables and storm shelters and restrooms.
We had a great stay in Lake Thunderbird State Park near Norman Oklahoma. The park has 11 campground areas situated around the 6000 acre centerpiece lake with many tent, RV sites and some of those have full hook up; our choice was the Little Ax campground on the southern end just off Oklahoma 9. In…

Long parking area makes for nice seclusion. Woods crowd you in, lake nearby. Watch for creepy crawlies; I had no idea they had tarantulas.
Beautiful campgrounds. Excellent trails. Really nice area of Oklahoma.
Avid tent camper here, camped from California to South Carolina. Wanted to spend the weekend close to home. And honestly just embarrassed to be from Oklahoma City with the way Thunderbird was. Stayed at Little Sandy 17. First every campsite we reserved had people on them so we had to kick people…
Had a wonderful time although it was windy and cold enjoyed the lake
We really enjoyed the Little Axe campground. Nice playground for kids and lots of places to for kids to ride bikes & scooters. Very clean campground. Nice scenery as well and a few smalls stores close by if you do forget something at home.

I love this spot. It was my first time camping in my rv and I was super lucky to find this place.
As everyone else has said, crowds here are the worst. Not only does it just get busy: the crowds here are particular crude, litter, loud, and generally unpleasant (drunk). Don’t go on weekends. It simply won’t be worth it. Sneak a day off and go middle of the week.
Apart from humans the park…
We wanted to end this terrible year (2020) and start the new one (2021) fresh....while camping. We stayed at Point campground in spot 47. Never camped here before and can’t wait to come back. We were so impressed at the space and layout of each site not to mention the spectacular design of main…
