So beautiful

Nice drive through residential farms, beautiful views . The state park, has a mini golf course, lake, archery, equestrian sites electric, full hook up , elite sites, primitive tent sites etc. It was about $25 and a $6 reservation fee. Call or do online. They had showers and vault toilets far over…

Easy off the highway stopover

This was a nice place to stop for a few days on my drive west into Ohio. I knew nothing about the campground prior to this visit. My next time I will stay in camping area B or C now that I have seen the layout. There is no hiking trail to the lake unless you use a horse trail which I did. If you…

Salt Fork Primitive camp sites

Plenty of nice park in lot and walk to sites. All on the edge of the woods, surrounding small open fields.

Happy camper

The campground was very rustic. Everything you want to see is nearby. I was their 2020 in August. The water was not drinkable. They have a gem 💎 but need to upgrade.

Hidden Gem

We love Lake Hope. Many trails to hike. The lake is beautiful and there is a very nice lodge for meals. They offer paddle board, kayak and other rentals which was a blast.

Typical State Park

The park itself is huge with many hiking trails, a huge lake with unlimited horsepower (bad for kayaks), an interesting historical museum, a cave overhang and lots of Bigfoot lore.

The campground is average for an Ohio State Park- think huge, exposed fields with no tree cover, and hundreds of…

Not that great

It was one of the worst camping experiences I’ve had. I was traveling and I called ahead and paid for my site before arriving. Upon arrival the people at the site next to us had their two tents set up on our site, and they were not there. After contacting the campground host and about an hour and…

Okay place to stay

As other reviewers have said, many of the campsites were not level, we were hoping that was only an issue with the RV sites and we'd be okay at the tent sites, but our spot, 122, was on a slope. We set up with our heads at the highest point of the slope and ended up having our sleeping mats slip…

Very nice campground

We’ve stayed twice at this campground and have had a great time both times. It’s located very close to Hocking Hills State Park. Some of the tent sites are on an incline, but the RV site we had (site 24) was very spacious. There’s a a nice pool and nature trails. There’s even a trail to Ash cave…

Cozy spot

Very nice and secluded campsite, with a very nice view of the pond. You can definitely tell that there’s been some people here before because they’ve left some trash but overall it’s a very nice spot where are you just pull in with your vehicle and set up your own campsite.

Amazing

This is an awesome campground. Almost Resort style camping.

The check in process was simple and easy. The sites are easy to get to and into. They have concrete slabs, the sites are well groomed and there is plenty of space.

I normally don't care for camping where there are seasonal campers but…

Lots to see and do!

This park is huge! There are several areas to pay for camping as well as primitive camp. It’s near the water and they offer several trails. Other than the trails, there is a stone house to view as well as a cave. We explored both and thought they were both interesting. The paid sites are pretty…

First Time Here for one night

I was excited to stay at a new location. Found my way there and selected an open spot directly across from the bridge. That spot was taken, appeared to be a family living on the bridge. Half of it was filled with their belongings. Looked like other areas, up on the hill, were also set up as…

Great state park facilities

The shower houses are pretty nice for a state park, and the sites, while some can be a bit difficult to navigate with hills, are pretty spacious. There are a lot of good shady spots to pick from, and the hiking is amazing. This is an annual trip for my family.

Beautiful but questionable design.

We stayed down at the "lake" spots which are not on the lake but quite above it. Our first site was #19, we were even hesitant to park our 23ft camper in it, but we did and then realized that as soon as we try to get in or out of the camper, it was a steep drop down 5ft. All the sites around this…
