Quit campground

We booked this campground last minute on a trip and being the last stop it was great to have a quite area. We were in site 12 which was a group site but it was all the had. We were tent camping and had plenty of flat area for our tent and we were far enough away from neighbors that it was quite.…

Great one nighter

Check in was effortless. Small but easy to get in and out. Full hookups and cable.

Almost got shot

This camp site is easy to find but that is about it as at night i woke to the sound of gun fire 100 feet from my tent. Unless you carry do not go to this campsite.

Deserted, Buggy, But Nice!!

I thought I’d stay here because it said it was free on the app: IT IS NOT FREE. It’s cheap though! $12/night and you can book on the recreation.gov app.

If you want to tent camp or sleep in your car, only book sites 1-5. The others don’t seem to have flat spots for much of anything. Perhaps…

All you need. No frills (beyond trails)

The cheapest Texas State Park for electric or electric/water campsites at only 14/night!

Spaces are spread out and loads and loads of pull through sites if that's your thing.

Bathrooms aren't great but if it isn't busy they are fine. Trails are beautiful and if you piece them together can be…

Nice and dark for star gazing

We, unfortunately, only got to spend one night here on our way through the area but enjoyed some great stargazing due to the park being quite dark.

We appreciated electric and water being at the campsite, especially for only $14 per night.

The only thing negative we noticed during our very short…

Friendly hosts

we camped at site 38 hoping for privacy but there were at least 2 campsites in plain sight (though we are probably a bit pickier than most). Trails were really nice despite it having rained the day and night before our hikes. Beautiful to see such towering trees. Saw some deer tracks too! Our dog…

Very clean

Nice and clean park. Quiet but only half full. Only down side is the limited amount of full hookups and then only 1 dump station. All the trail signs are new and easy to find. Camp hosts definitely do there job on checking on the park and ensuring things are taken care of. Sites are pretty good…

Simple, clean

Very simple overnight quick pull in, pull out. Close to the interstate. Clean bathrooms. Excellent space in the two bathroom/shower combos. Very clean floors and laundry area.

Very nice campground

Spaces are large and well spaced for privacy. Beautiful lake views. The only negative is the rediculous fire pits. Obviously designed by someone who never experienced camping or a campfire. The pits are 2 feet tall, solid steel with NO air holes. Fires never burn and even if they did you…

Cool weather, very clean

One of the cleanest and well maintained state parks I’ve been too. Campsites seemed to be a bit to close to each other but it was manageable. Boat ramps were extremely shallow. Also, hiking trail maps could be updated. One trail says it connects to another when they did not in fact. All in all…

Beautiful, spacious and quiet!

We were in site B5 (one of 15 sites out of 124 that have FHU), for 12 days in September and October 2020. This site was not very level but we had great views of the lake out the front and side of our MH. It had a grill with table, picnic table and a fire ring. The sites are nicely sized,…

A Beautiful And Remote Texas State Park!

On the very last day of 2018 we found ourselves camped out at Atlanta State Park on Wright Patman lake deep in the East Texas piney woods. Just a short drive north and west of the Texas Town of Atlanta set way back in the tall pine trees Atlanta State Park is truly a beautuful place to visit with…

Peace and Quiet

This is a very beautiful Federal campground. Sites are scattered. Lots of shade, large trees. We were in site 16, which has water access and views. Level concrete pads. Electric and water. Dump station only. Many beautiful hiking and bike trails. Kayaking, swimming , boating and fishing. Showers…
