Best RV Parks & Resorts near Osceola, AR

Several RV parks serve the Osceola area with varying levels of amenities and site types. Tom Sawyer's RV Park offers concrete pull-through sites with full hookups including 50-amp service and water connections. Shearins RV Park in Blytheville provides electric hookups and water access for big rigs, with spacious sites accommodating slide-outs. "We stayed in site 29 (concrete). We could see the river from our site, but it was a walk to get river side. Site had ample shade and was far enough apart from other campers," noted one visitor about Tom Sawyer's Park. Willow RV Park features 72 RV sites with sewer hookups and electric service, though it lacks some amenities like trash service and picnic tables.

Most RV parks in the region remain open year-round, allowing for travel planning flexibility. Dump stations are available at larger facilities like Tom Sawyer's, while smaller parks may require using nearby public dump stations. Cell service varies throughout the area - visitors report good AT&T and Verizon coverage at several parks with 2-3 bars typical. Many locations permit pets but impose leash requirements and designated pet areas. The proximity to Memphis provides convenient access to urban amenities while staying in more affordable Arkansas campgrounds. Parking surfaces range from level concrete pads to gravel sites that occasionally require leveling blocks. During peak travel seasons, particularly spring and fall, advance reservations are strongly recommended as riverside sites fill quickly.

    T.O. Fuller State Park Campground

    Decent SP near South Memphis.

T.O. Fuller SP Is a decent campground situated 5 miles from Graceland and about 15 minutes (by car) from downtown Memphis. If you are concerned about staying in South Memphis, this state park is not for you. However, it is surprisingly decent compared to what you would assume based on its location.

TO fuller state park is expansive and has a state park feel to it. The campground is secluded and has 35-38 campsites. All campsites have 30/50 amp electric, water, picnic table, fire ring and trash hooks. There are no sewer hook ups, but there are two dump stations. This is helpful on busier weekends. The bathhouse is situated in the center of the campground and it has been updated. We did not use it and it was closed due to the pandemic. There is also an updated playground in the campground area that looks very nice. Many of the sites are level and there are a few pull through sites. Several large RVs and travel trailers were able to comfortably fit in these campsites.

There are several hiking trails, a swimming pool (in season), and a native American history Museum (Chulissa) that is very popular. Most of the facilities were closed, but we were able to hike and enjoyed it. The visitor center staff and Park Rangers were all helpful and very friendly. The visitor center has a number of state park items for purchase. If you are a person that collects patches, stickers, or clothing of the state park you visit visit, TO Fuller’s visitors center has everything you could need.

In summary, TO Fuller State Park is surprisingly beautiful for its location, but if you cannot get past its location then it is not a good place for you to try and stay. However, if its location doesn’t bother you, you’ll enjoy your weekend and a pretty state park.

    Tom Sawyer's RV Park

    Camp Along the Mississippi River

Tom Sawyer RV Park is located right along the Mississippi River. The entrance into the park takes you through a wooded area, which has beautiful scenery. Upon arrival they are doing contactless check in and have your car tag and park map located at the front office.

They have three areas to this campground: two are located on the river and one sits back into the trees with more shade. There is also 2 ponds located on site with fishing allowed. Sites are either concrete or gravel and mostly level. All sites are full hook up with 30/50 amp electric. They also have several bathhouses and laundry facilities, both which were clean.

We stayed in site 29 (concrete). We could see the river from our site, but it was a walk to get river side. Site had ample shade and was far enough apart from other campers. We also had cell service (ATT) and the park provides wifi.

Pros: •Clean campground •Spacious sites •Full hook ups with laundry facilities •WiFi included •Gorgeous views

Cons: •Poison Ivy •Ticks, mosquitoes, snakes, etc...are thick

    Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park

    Hot, Remote, Bugs

Ok - so this campground is a few things.  Will detail the good/bad below as we saw it:

    Good

    1. This campground is super remote.  Like 20 minutes from downtown Memphis, but 0 bars of cell service.  Really nice for an escape, but hard if trying to work out of here.

    2. This campground is part of a HUUUUUUGE state park.  Like 10000 acres.

    3. Tons of outdoors activities in this state park.

    Bad

    1. No cell service.  Or Internet.  Or anything.  There is very small service for WIFI available at the visitor center, which is a 5min drive from the park.

    2. Bugs from April - October are pretty bad.  This is in a forest, so they are constantly around.

    3. Bath areas are old.  And full of mosquitos.  Would make sure you understand this before camping.

    4. No Full Hookups (state park).

    Bootheel RV Park

    Good Overnighter

We tried to get into an Arkansas park but they were full so we headed into Bootheel where we’ve stayed before. We called about 2 hours out and the only sites left were 30 AMP with water. GPS takes you to the campground right off I-55, but there are directions on their website that are better as far as which exit to take. Upon arrival, there are envelopes in a brown box with the available site numbers on the envelopes. We walked around to look at each site and decided on site 12. You complete the required information on the envelope, include your payment and drop it off in the drop box. The park prefers a cash payment but you can leave credit card information on the payment envelope. They do offer a Good Sam Discount. Site 12 was an easy pull through with 30 amp and water only. Parking was easy. Once set up, we found out we were blowing the breaker with only 1 aircon running, and it killed that side of the post. We plugged into site 11 on the shared post with the same results but this time we only blew the post breaker. We got a hold of the owner and she got the maintenance guy to us really quick. Come to find out, it was our 30 AMP surge protector that was the problem. Hats off to park management for a quick response. The last row has the 50 AMP FHU sites. The first three rows in the park are 30 AMP with a mix of FHUs and water & electric. We got 2 bars on AT&T and Verizon. The last time we stayed here last January they stated they were getting new park WiFi and this time the WiFi worked much better. There’s no cable but we got quite a few OTA channels. There was plenty of area to walk our dogs along the adjacent cotton fields. They also had a very nice laundry facility that was decently priced. There is quite a bit of road noise from I-55. We dumped on the way out at their dump station that only has a dump and no water for a cleaning hose. As we are based near St. Louis, MO area and traveling to northern Mississippi once a year for RV maintenance, this no frills campground makes a perfect overnighter.

Lady Luck Casino and RV Park

    Great find!

This casino RV park has all hook-ups, is very well-maintained, and our pull-through site was level. They have free laundry facilities and clean individual bathrooms with showers, ADA accessible with shower chairs. There are picnic tables and grills available nearby. Trash pickup offered daily between 8-9 am. No reservations, first come basis, we were second to arrive around 5pm and more came in later but there were spaces available next morning (they have a total of 18 pull-through and 9 back-in sites, concrete pads).

    Tom Sawyer's RV Park

    Motorcycle Friendly & Free Laundry

Found this campsite on the Dyrt and was pleasantly surprised with the location and family friendly atmosphere. Right on the River but not swimable water. In an industrial park but felt very safe. Just a few minutes from the interstate.

The tent site is just a primitive grassy group area but had tons of shade from giant oak trees and is right next to the bathhouse.

Laundry is free on the second story of the bathhouse which was a wonderful treat.

The bathrooms weren’t awful but could use some TLC.

Tent sites do not get picnic tables. No fire rings.

Overall a decent night’s stay - whatever you do don’t forget your bug spray!

    Southaven RV Park

    Can’t beat the location

Located right off 55 at the first exit as you get into Mississippi. It’s 15-20 minutes from everything you want to do in the Memphis area like downtown or midtown. Groceries, gas, and other necessities are across the street. Mostly full timers here and everyone is friendly. It seems like the first pull through by the bathrooms and laundry is the transitory spot. Easy to get into, dry, and has a concrete patio. Not a ton of space between sites but definitely not the worst I’ve seen in smaller campgrounds like this. The people I spoke to in the office were awesome and very helpful. Had room to park the tow vehicle and the daily driver.

    Green's Quiet Acre

    Great spot

Stayed at Green’s Quiet Acre and couldn’t be happier. The lot was clean, level, and had full hookups. Quiet, safe location with easy access to town. Owner was friendly and made everything simple. Definitely recommend if you’re passing through or need a long-term spot.

Guide to Osceola

RV camping near Osceola, Arkansas offers camping options alongside the Mississippi River with views of barge traffic and convenient access to Memphis attractions. The area sits at an elevation of approximately 246 feet in the Mississippi Alluvial Plain, characterized by flat terrain and agricultural surroundings. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 90°F with high humidity, while winters remain relatively mild with occasional freezing temperatures.

What to do

Mississippi River viewing: At Tom Sawyer's RV Park, campers can watch river traffic throughout the day. "Sunrise over the river was perfect. Watching the tug boats moving up and down the river all day and night was relaxing," reports one visitor. The riverbank setting provides unique opportunities for photography and relaxation.

Local farmers markets: The Agricenter RV Park in Memphis offers easy access to on-site vendors. "There is a Farmers Market on site. Picked up some fruits and plants before heading out," notes a camper. Fresh local produce is typically available seasonally from spring through fall.

Memphis attractions: Graceland RV Park & Campground provides direct access to Elvis Presley's home. "The park has all amenities needed for a nice family vacation….laundry, gift shop, swimming pool, playground and more. The campground is located adjacent to Graceland with a connecting gate for easy access," explains one reviewer. Most Memphis attractions are within a 20-30 minute drive from area campgrounds.

What campers like

Free laundry facilities: Multiple campers appreciate the complimentary laundry at Tom Sawyer's RV Park. "Beautiful park right by the river. Friendly, helpful staff, free laundry, and even some small walking trails," shares one reviewer. This uncommon amenity saves campers time and money during extended stays.

Quiet setting: Despite proximity to transportation routes, most RV parks maintain peaceful environments. "A little gem on the river," describes a camper about Tom Sawyer's RV Park. Another mentions that Century Casino RV Park (formerly Lady Luck) offers a "Quiet and peaceful park" setting.

Security features: Safety measures at campgrounds provide peace of mind. "I felt completely safe at the camp ground. They a have a 24-hour security guard at the entrance and you must sign-in to enter the property," notes one camper about Graceland RV Park. Several campgrounds implement similar security protocols.

What you should know

Flooding concerns: River-adjacent campgrounds occasionally close due to high water levels. "Only problem is if the river is over its banks, then the campground is closed. We had to keep checking to see if the river was down, campground was cleaned up and open," cautions a visitor to Tom Sawyer's RV Park.

Unpredictable access routes: Some campground approaches can be challenging. "Holy heck the drive getting to this place is crazy- left off the interstate, through a shady part of Memphis, past all kinds of industry, across tracks and over a dike, down a curvy bumpy gravel road past ancient campground signs and various unrelated turn offs," reports a camper about Tom Sawyer's RV Park.

Site variations: Quality and conditions differ significantly between parks and individual sites. At Lakeview RV Resort, "The asphalt camp sites are extremely long but narrow. The path around the pond is paved and has a lot of fruit trees along the side." Understanding site specifics helps set appropriate expectations.

Tips for camping with families

Look for dedicated amenities: Some parks offer specific family-friendly features. "If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in the country, it is not," notes a camper about Agricenter International RV Park. When traveling with children, prioritize parks with playgrounds or recreational areas.

Consider proximity to attractions: Location can significantly impact family enjoyment. "Next time we are in Memphis we will certainly be back here!" shares a family about their Graceland RV Park stay, highlighting the "pavilion, pool, basketball hoop, playground, showers, and other amenities."

Plan for weather challenges: Summer heat in the region requires preparation. "As evening rolled around, the beauty of this place came alive. We ate dinner in the shade due to the smart layout of the sites, and as the breeze picked up we could enjoy the scenery in earnest for the first time," explains a family describing how they managed hot conditions at Century Casino RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Cell service reliability: Mobile connectivity varies by provider and location. Parks closer to metropolitan areas generally offer better service than rural locations. Internet needs should factor into site selection.

Parking surfaces: Site conditions impact leveling requirements. "Paved lots, close together, has tables and outside grills. Very clean," notes a camper at Century Casino RV Park. Concrete pads typically require fewer adjustments than gravel or dirt surfaces.

Long-term stay options: Several parks accommodate extended visits. "Different rates for 50 and 30 amp service," notes a reviewer about Lakeview RV Resort. Monthly rates can provide significant savings for travelers planning extended stays in the Osceola area.
