Sadly this park is a victim of several park closures by the Little Rock District US Army Corp of Engineers. I am glad to see that someone is trying to maintain the park. I’ve never camped here, but thanks to this app and the reviews I will be checking this park out for future trips in the area.
Quiet and secluded
This is a great place to camp on the water! We pulled in after a long drive through Arkansas, tired and chilly. We picked a random site as there were plenty to choose from since no one was in the entire park. Mostly flat by the water with a fire pit and a picnic bench. It looks like someone had cut down a tree recently and left the logs to be burned for the next camper. You could hear coyotes going crazy trying to get to a cow. The farm dog wasn’t having it and kept them away during the night. There’s some kind of water fowl that lives on this lake that you’ll hear at night as well. At first the sites seemed creepy and almost ominous, but as the night went on, it was nice to be in the middle of nature just hanging by the fire. I would definitely stay here again. Don’t let the initial eeriness turn you away!
Delaware Park seems like it has been abandoned
It is hard to tell if the federal government, state government or some local agency built this park and then turned it over but it is a large park with nice campsites but no one seems to be maintaining the facility.
The camping fees are cheap... but I couldn't even find a self pay station. Once again the park only had porta-potties for facilities and there was no one in sight considering the size of the campground and park. We chose not to stay because it looked like a ghost town.
I gave it two stars instead of one because the campsites on the water were beautiful.
