Lovely park/tight campsite

This was a beautiful park with lots to do, especially for kids. The information center was large and the employees were very friendly. We were in sight number 28, which I picked because it was close to the bathroom. This campground is better suited to large RVs than to our teardrop trailer. Site number 28 was very tight. We were cramped in between two large RVs and next to a road so there was no privacy at all. It was very hot that night and since we don’t have air-conditioning, we had to have the windows open. One of the RVs had their light glaring in our window all night. There were also a a lot of unattended children and some of them made a mess in one of the bathrooms, which were previously clean. The host was very friendly however. I would highly recommend for a family in an RV, but it was not appropriate for a retired couple in a little tiny camper.

Beautiful Campgrounds

We enjoyed our stay, we stayed on our way to see family and on the way home! The Fall foliage was beautiful and the park was very well kept up. We didn’t have time to explore a lot but will definitely be adding to our “must visit in the future” list!

Nice state park

Beautiful visitors center. Pretty campground on the lake. You can see Mount Nebo in the distance. Not much in the way of hiking trails. They have a short loop trail near the visitor center that is good for small children.

Dardanelle SP - Beautiful park

Certainly big rig friendly. Wide roads and good room for backing into camp site. Our pad was crushed rock, but very level with minimal shimming required

Typical State Park Campground

Typical State Park Campground. They have 3 separate loops with approximately 15 sites in each. The sites are shaded, but VERY close together without anything in between.

They also have a late check-in box, in case you arrive after hours without reservations (us).

Minus our tent camping neighbors arguing into the night (not the campground’s fault) it was a nifty last minute spot to sleep for the night!

Nice campground.

Stopped here for an overnight stay. Sites in loop c were very close. Loop D was a little better. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Water and electric were fine. Very clean. Traveling in a 31` class A.

Lake Dardanelles State Park

First time visit and pleasantly surprised! The park is clean and decently maintained. Great welcome center with aquarium displays that are quite informative. The location is close to many of the region’s other recreation areas, trails, and Russellville is close enough to ensure you are well stocked. Although we didn’t use the camp showers, they looked very clean and up to date.

Stayed in an RV spot with 30a and sewer. Had a polarity issue on the power but the spot was unique. Could use a bit of an update, but nothing that impacted the stay.

Lots for families with swim beach and playground in addition to nature experiences.

Impressed

This is our first time staying at this park. Although we were not able to get a prime waterfront site, we are still pleased! All the sites seem very level, shaded and well maintained. The electric and water hookups in “D” area are in strange locations at each site. The lake is so close and beautiful! The sunset view is to die for! **disregard the 1-star review on here from someone else...this is a campground. It was named incorrectly and is now fixed.

Limited

We enjoyed our stay.   We tried to go hiking, but covered in ticks minutes after starting the trail.   Our site was close to the water with a view of the nuclear plant.   I think it was a nuclear plant across the water.   Area had nice play grounds.    Other campers helpful and polite.  Bathrooms clean.   Nice pic nic areas.  We was in the area for a ballon festival.   Kids enjoyed the stay.

Wonderful Campground

I called ahead a couple of days before we were to arrive and the ladies on the phone were awesome. They fixed us up with the perfect site The first night when we went to the shower house we got a big surprise! Not only was it clean but it had six doors. Behind each door was a shower room complete with a toilet and lavatory and guess what??? It was air conditioned!!! Made my day to take a shower and get cleaned up in a private air conditioned room. Clean park good fishing, 3 miles to town!

Absolutely wonderful camping spot for RVs or tents

The State Park systems in the US are some of our favorite places to find beautiful camping spots, but Lake Dardanelle State Park in Arkansas tops most of them all. The spots are spacious and aesthetically nice, wood and charcoal grills at the ready, most are shaded well, the shower/restrooms are air conditioned and spacious. The swimming beach looked wonderful, the campground host was welcoming, it was all we could ask for.

great little extension campground

This campground has plenty of room in between campsites to stretch out. It has one bath house with four individual unisex bathrooms. The down side to the bathrooms is there is not any good place to put your dry stuff while you shower. The kids love the playground. there is a nice wide boat ramp with plenty of parking situated in a peaceful cove.

Dardanelle SP is top notch, but you should know there is a nuclear power plant in view

I have to admit, I had no idea what the Nuclear Evacuation signs were for since I am not from the area and do not live near a nuclear power plant. This campground would be five stars if there was not a nuclear power plant in view from my camp site.

This park has everything you would want, a beautiful visitor's center a gorgeous lake. Top of the line facilities, beautiful campsites, fun for the whole family... and a nuclear power plant in view.

I probably would have rated it lower than four because of the nuclear power plant in view, but honestly, the park itself was amazing. It is worth the visit, just know that your eye will continually see the power plant in the background.
