Rustic and Rough

Not a Class A towing a toad kinda spot... instead bring your big trucks and Polaris off road machines! Lots of trail riding in the nearby hills going on. The river was raging on the night we stayed so no swimming at all. Our spot was kinda gravel with water and power. The dump was just a pvc…

Currently Day Use But People Were Camping

When I visited this campsite, it was a pretty decent drive down a small gravel road, nothing crazy.    I noticed a couple of tents set up at the entrance area but no cars, figuring that people were out exploring I went into the site and quickly noticed the water level was very high.

An up and coming hidden gem!

Simply put, this is a great little rustic place to get away from the hustle and bustle. The sites offer 20/30/50A hookups with water and septic. The sound of the river makes for a very peaceful setting and provides great background noise to lull you to sleep after a full day of hiking.

We stayed…

Laid back and beautiful

My husband and I visited Mulberry back in November 2020 and we loved it. We’re driving to the Grand Canyon with the kids and decided to stop in again and stay the night. I’m so glad we did! The kids loved it so much. Everyone is so nice and laid back. The river is beautiful and the kids loved…

Heavener Runestone State Park in

The View is spectacular! The host is very nice and the bathhouse is clean. We didn’t get a chance to do any hiking. I’m sure it would have been beautiful. There is only one site with electricity for RV hook ups.

Beautiful Park with waterfront sites

Five star experience, except for the showers, which were gross. The bathrooms were otherwise fine - functional and on par with what you’d expect in a park. The campsites were very nice. We had a spacious site with plenty of room between us and our friendly neighbors. Our concrete pad at site A5 had…

Nice & relaxing

Got site next to AK river. Nice & quiet spot, lots of birds. Nice RV neighbors. They made me put up a tent even though I was sleeping in my car. That was a bit annoying, but I think it’s state law (no overnight sleeping in cars). Bathrooms a bit outdated but worked. Guy said showers on other…

Great campground

Really nice campground you have two options in the A section you are right one a small river and one the B side it’s more of the wooded option but most sites have the Arkansas rive close by with mountain biking tails and hiking trails they have a nice pond on the ground and a play area

Great Stay

It’s a smaller campground which is great. Tent sites are near the river. It was quiet at night. The staff was very helpful as well.

Unique Park

This is a very nice state park that mostly offers hiking and beautiful views. We stayed in our camper, but there is a beautiful lodge and a good restaurant here as well. The hike up to the highest point in Arkansas is easy and family friendly for kids. Campground and bathhouse were well…

Heavener Runestone

Came here for a day trip and had fun. There is an awesome hiking trail that takes you down into the valley and to the runestone itself. There are multiple tent sites and a good playground. Also a great view looking down to the bottom of the hill. We didn’t camp but the sites looked like most start…

One of a kind...

We were here mid March on a rainy windy day. It felt too eerie visibility barely enough to see the next 10 ft probably. The windy road, fog, wind and rain made it feel like being in one of Stephen King's novel.

But, the next day the sun came out and all was well. The visitor center is rich with…

Great place to treat right

Great spot. As most have said the main site that this link takes you to is up hill some ways from a creek that runs quite a way through the area snaking around and getting to various fill levels depending on recent weather. It also has great spots to see while hiking around. I've been here twice…

Nice, clean little camp

The people who take care of this camp do a great job. Everything is tidy and well kept.

Spaces aren’t too tight together, but not much privacy either - except for us because we were the only ones there!

The Ouachita Trailhead starts here and two of the primitive camps (1 and 2) are right at the…
