There are two section to this area. The northern one is labeled “below the dam tent sites”, the southern one is labeled “below dam”. The southern one is a just a cluster of pull in camping sites next to the fishing area. There’s a short walk to the bathrooms. You can get to the water by walking…

Many off-path sites marked only by fire rings and small forest clearings. Be prepared to park and walk long distances and bring everything with you. The closest town is a 20 minute drive. Generally very clean and mostly appears undisturbed whether from little use or attention to preserving a…

No shade, fool sun, $35 !
Me, my wife and lil dog, drove into the campground to find out more information to stay the night. We met an employee who was on a golf cart. He (Mike) was super friendly and informative. He directed us to go find a comfortable tent spot, set it up and they would get with us later on the…
The lodge is incredible, rv sites have no sewer and are close together. Not a bad campground just small
This campground is located right off of Hwy 71 for easy access. Plenty of room for big rigs. Just a short ride to the Wolf Pen Gap trail system. Located in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains, 7 miles south of Mena.
After hours checkin is still by the honor system!!

The campground is very peaceful, only two other campers On a Thursday in the middle of June. There used to be places to get water but they are turned offIt really looks like there is very little maintenance. There are pit toilets But that is it. It is a very peaceful place but lacking in amenities
We just stayed 3 nights in space 23. Level asphalt lots but spaced kinda wonky. Shady. I wish it had sewer. We also looked for a nearby lake to fish or kayak but nothing unless you go to Iron Fork Lake which is down the mountain.
The lodge and restaurant were nice. We hiked the Lover’s Leap…

Driving through this part of Arkansas you can quickly get taken aback by the winding roads the ample beauty, but until you visit the campground and park you will only have a portion of the beauty of the region. High atop the mountain, with a near perfect view, you can see for miles and miles.

When I visited let me start out by saying there were a lot of signs saying day use only. However when I looked more closely I realized that the areas by the dam are day use only and this small camping area is available seasonally. All reservations are done through the state's pay line and can…

This was a very clean, well kept campground.
Five star experience, except for the showers, which were gross. The bathrooms were otherwise fine - functional and on par with what you’d expect in a park. The campsites were very nice. We had a spacious site with plenty of room between us and our friendly neighbors. Our concrete pad at site A5 had…

The drive to the top of the mountain is a winding one. The campsites are very close together. Our site would not allow more than two lawn chairs around the campfire it was framed in and small. The showers were mediocre warm with no heat in bathrooms. The high point of this camping trip was the…
