Rocky River Resort

We spend the whole summer here and couldn’t ask for a more friendly place! It’s perfect, from being right on the water to allowing pets! They provide everything needed to float but your cooler and food! They will carry you up river and your float ends at the campground! Been coming here 30 years…

Nice and quiet

Spacious camp sites. Very few people in the whole campground. Had the whole lower loop to ourselves. Short walk to the river and the spring.

National forest park

Hot showers. Flush toilets. On the current river and national waterways. Lots of sites spaced apart. Only $8 with senior pass. Electric $2 more. We did first come first serve and had lots of choices on Thursday before Labor Day.

Comfortable park

Right outside of historic Hardy AR, this is a quiet campground with large grass sites, power and water and on site dump station. Hardy is a cool downtown area, but everything closes down here by 6pm. We had a beautiful site on the river!

Quiet

For a state park it was pretty quiet. We're Seniors and I think we were the loudest..lol. Has shower and bathrooms, pavilions available to rent and a few cabins. Its small for rv park..we liked Lot 9 is the best..most secluded except for the trail paths.

Gorgeous Stop

Great little place to stop along the way. Roads are in great condition, water is crisp and very blue, grass is cut and kept up well, playgrounds are clean and tidy.

Memories of Days Gone By

The people of Missouri gave a wonderful gift to the people of the United States.  A gift I did not know about or had never heard of till we made the decision to camp in Missouri.

Big Springs was Missouri's first state park.  The CCC did a lot of construction on the park and so much of the…

Joy on the Twain

Mark Twain National Forest in Van Buren, Missouri along the Ozark National Scenic Riverway.  During the 2017 flood there was some damage to a group shelter so be careful walking.  The ground is uneven and there are a lot of blocks.

Watercress sits along side the Current River and the river is a…

Perfection in the Eyes of the Beholder

From Thayer Missouri travel on MO 142 east, turn onto MO V for several miles and look for the Fourche Lake sign on the right, immediate turn to the right.  No more than a couple of miles down a well maintained gravel road you will see a boat launch.  The road will bear to the left and maybe a tenth…

Country Life

I must make a comment regarding two other reviews. A lake is generally deeper than a pond. You weigh the depth and surface to judge if a body of water is one or the other. In Arkansas you will find a pond on a ranch or a farm. Now in some areas of the United States there are lakes that cover masses…

Oh-Ozarks

We enjoyed clean well-maintained bathrooms. Men’s showers were hot and the women’s were cold! The grass was mown well, so it was easier to tent camp. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Scenery was spectacular.

Really Nice

A really nice smaller privately owned campground that still has all of the perks. Pool, clean bath house, ice, fire wood, etc. Bordered by a spring branch and just a mile from Clearwater lake access. Has several cabins and one RV for rent. Tall pines and cottonwood trees throughout. Owners are…

Good things come in small packages

This is a small site but you get all the trimmings. Mature trees water sites flush toilets showers electrical hook ups. COE Book states “first come first serve.” So far all the sites we have been to recently are by reservations. There is a boat ramp but one thing to be aware of is that if it has…

Not a bad site here

Ok forget the ever running trains not to far from back of campground or the 3 mile drive on a dirt and gravel road, this is a beautiful park. The river that runs through it has great fishing. (Just down from fish hatchery) Just wish they had sewer sites available. Staff was great and very friendly.…

Nice park fair wifi

Very friendly and upbeat host. Loves their campground. Mostly full-timers but even though they have 18 people on the waiting list for a full time spot still they reserve several pull throughs for short term guests.  And they are expanding the park to accommodate more guests.  We were in a close to…
