    Sharp Creek

    Nice small campground with many good sites.

    We checked out 3 campgrounds before settling on this one - Ponderosa, Christopher Creek & Sharp Creek. CG opened on April 1st, reservations start on the 15th. We arrived on the 7th so it was first come. Not crowded at this time. Stayed 5 nights including a weekend. 

    It's fairly high @ 6,000' which is exactly what we were looking for to avoid excessive heat. Road in & site pads paved. Water turned on. Hosts had just arrived and were nice but unfamiliar with the area.  No firewood for sale here and no dump nearby in spite of some information indicating a dump at Ponderosa CG  (it's not functional). Nearest supplies in Christopher Creek, a short distance from the CG. I know they have ice and some basic supplies. Maybe firewood? A couple restaurants/taverns there as well. There's a store @ Woods Canyon Lake on top of the Rim that opens this year later in April and there are some services including gas in Forest Lakes. Otherwise it's Payson or Heber.

    The only downside that I would mention about the CG is highway noise. It's a fairly busy road and not far from the CG. Good cell service with Verizon.

    Surprise, West Sedona Designated Dispersed Camping

    Crowded but Scenic

    We arrived on a Saturday night, the pullout areas were crowded. Once we located a spot things were fine. Beautiful surroundings. We do notice that many people came back to get their trailers after dinner time. They probably spent the day in Sedona or hiking. About 30% of the pullout areas emptied out after that.so, if you arrive late, there should be room.

    Oasis RV Park at Aztec Hills

    Truly An Oasis in the Desert

    Wonderful RV park, off the beaten path. Scott was very helpful getting us settled in and showing us where everything was. It was so quiet and dark at night. We sat outside and stared at the sky for so long just enjoying the stars. We would love to go back and stay longer.

    Well-kept, quiet site

    I stayed at a tent site. Restroom and laundry facilities are clean, but there is no kitchen sink. If you need quarters for laundry, you can ask the welcome office. WiFi was pretty weak from my tent site.

    Grand Canyon experience

    Very peaceful nice staff. And views of the Grand Canyon are just minutes away. The campground was under water restrictions so, no showers or laundry. But other than that it was great.

    That home feel!!

    We where looking around for a good place to stay and let me tell you we found it the office staff where so help full I felt like part of the committee as soon has we met they. Went out off there way to make us feel welcome, and safe the trees here are beautiful and there is no trash blowing around also minimal surveillance no gate code. Perfect placement everything you need within .5 mile the pric e was more than fair. Thank you guys we will meet agin.safe travels.

    Last minute and was amazing

    We decided last minute to camp and the original place we wanted to camp wasn’t open then found this site!! Loved the hikes we took along the service road and in the canyon. Would definitely camp here again!
